EXCLUSIVE clip from the award-winning film SENNA. (Opening in theaters August 12, 2011) Senna and then-FISA head Jean-Marie Balestre go head-to-head over safety concerns at the 1991 German Driver's Briefing. FB.com/SENNAmovie @SENNAmovie
Hearing Sid Watkins talking about how he was there when Ayrton's soul left on the tarmac in San Marino.. He and Ayrton was great friends, so hearing him says it all
Rakhin Amin it’s a lot to do with the camera operator. The producers of the documentary said a handful of the cameramen has cinematography backgrounds and really knew how to frame shots / scenes, to the point they were looking out for their names.
Its amazing to think Senna is absolutely right, and how F1 safety has actually implemented his advice directly by putting much larger runoffs, gravel traps, ect ect and it has had a major impact on driver safety. He was ahead of his time. They didn't listen well enough!!
If F1 is safe today is only because thanks Senna!!!! Unfortunately his car killed him!!!! But I'm sure if williams was made a great job on that day 94, Ayrton will be with Us in such Top Talent in the history of f1.
While agreeing with your comment Tamburello at Imola where Senna was killed could not be made safer. Berger spoke in an interview how he and Senna inspected Tamburelo because it was concerning for Berger after his accident there in 89 but Senna noticed the stream on the other side of the wall and they both agreed nothing could be done to provide more run-off area.
@@Jay-Leigh863 True. For the escape area everything was ok. Then came more concern about cockpit safety. From there (the accidents in sequence in Italy) followed the improvements of increased sides, internal capsule integrity and even the halo, more recently.
What he mean was, "The best decision is my decision that is letting only the drivers to vote for themselves on how to approach the matter because clearly at this moment only the drivers know precisely about the risks and how the cars feels like on the track." i think that isnt stupid. Its not like he is too stubbornly arrogant, that's just how old people talk most of the time. You can say its their version of "You know what,...[insert your conclusion on the matter here]...." kinda thing.
Damn…when he says 'The best decision is my decision', you can see is his glasses his point of view…one hand controlling the room full of drivers. That is just a great shot with a great line…I'm no cinematographer, but that is a money shot right there.
@@treatb09 He is not literally talking about the decition...He is using that to show authority, otherwise it looks like Senna is the one doing the desition making and it makes him look weak in front of everyone else.
Ayrton Senna is a truly Gentleman.. He Even say "Let Me Finish" when they try to argumenting senna's Unfinished argument.. Such a Driver and Personality
@@car7000 Some say he would've eventually been President of Brazil had he lived. This scene you can sort of see why. A strong personality and points are made yet he had a sense of humility that draws you in.
Omg how unprofessional FIA is. Somebody interrupted Balrestre several times was confusing, he doesn't listen, doesn't let Ayrton finish speak. Such a top down and they don't know how to conduct a professional meeting. I just saw an ice burg of Senna's years&years struggle going through FIA after +20 years of his passing. LOL at Balestre shouted "the best decision is my decision" Senna "I have a feeling for that". Senna is so intelligent to respond back to Balrestre with humor. Thanks for uploading the clip. Yea, it's intriguing than a movie. Senna, you are no other. You're missed forever than ever.
Just proved how influential he was, not just to fans or other drivers but to the changes in f1, even his death changed f1 safety. He was an amazing person and driver :)
He wasn’t always amazing, he used to be my hero until I found out he was a prick to his teammates who were a threat to his supremacy Edit: and I hate it puts Prost as the villain in the documentary, he was part of the reason why senna became popular and getting into McLaren
@@fredd9340 research is neither here or there..u said he was your hero, then he wasnt lmao so really he never was...so who was he a prick to then in order for you to go from idolosing him to disliking him? Bit odd really..and prost had nothing whatsover to do with him joining maclaren..did u make that up or listen to prost? Ron Dennis totally debunks that statement...
@@lorisvds the documentary is one-sided and only tries to depict prost as the evil guy. In fact Senna could also play dirty and do politics behind the scene. This documentary is cheesy and shit.
@@jimmymagic2438 i agreed with the first part of your statement. The second part... Just enjoy the exaggerated piece of crap hollywood might someday produce.
The sad part is: what do they get in return? Senna died because of low safety. Schumacher did a lot of charity for handicapped children, now Schumacher got it himself. I don't understand world, they both didn't deserve it looking what they did. But got both exactly what they were fighting for. Life isn't fair.
@@stuntslikeeveryday if life was fair, innocent Jesus wouldn't have died in the place of guilty sinners but that's what He did, its worth noting that after Senna was advocating for driver safety, the only way it was ever fully enforced, was because of his death...
@@stuntslikeeveryday so you believe nothing could originate something? That complex life and our own conscience is by random chance? Its true that death should not exist, its a result of the curse of the fall of mankind after man rebelled against God, but God at the same time, turned Jesus' death around to accomplish good in the end, senna shouldn't have died but when its your time, its your time, and hopefully he is with the God he said he believed
Amazing!! The best part is Balestre when he says: "The Best decision is my decision" and Senna answer: " I have a feeling for that". After Japan 1989, Senna could expect anything from Balestre.
That's why this argument takes place... Senna argues that tire chicanes for runoffs are dangerous and Balestre immediatelly feels attacked for the penalty Senna took the prrvious year
every time i watch this video it feels like watching a movie even though i know this is something actually happened, but like the shots the zooms everything is just amazing the way senna covers his face with his hands, the way he says “page three” and hand overs the papers, the reflection from jean-marie’s glasses, the zoom on prost’s face when ayrton says “you must understand jean-marie”, the tense feeling in the room ahhhhhh its epic
I don't recall ever seeing a real life clip that looks 100% like a movie. It has to be some of those rare things you see in life, this is amazing, I wanna watch it again! And yes, his decision was indeed the best.
Ayrton Senna's personality, humanity and spirit made him unforgetable! McLaren's actual tribute on their official homepage shows the deep attachment to Senna, which makes them so conspicuous***
You can just see that Senna straight up cared for the drivers. His passion is so evident in his frustration. He may have died 5 years before I was born but man I miss him. How is that even possible🥺
I was born seven years after the death of Senna. But I miss him too. He was an F1 genius, a track genius. But he did not have a star fever. Ayrton has always remained humane and kind towards people. P.S. Unfortunately, this happens - people leave 😔🥺
Risada jocosa pra caralho hahahaha Piquet é muito foda, em todos os sentidos. Pilotava pra caralho, sabia de mecânica, teve que driblar o pai pra ser piloto, sempre descontraído, muito consciente no jeito de falar... Respeito o Piquet demais.
I do not think they hated each other. They were just competing for the same spot and both were short of maturity at the time. If Senna was alive now I guess they would have mutual respect.
Ayrton was an experienced racing driver, in F1 machinery in that era. The support from all those other drivers sums up perfectly his common sense and his earnt respect! As Frank Williams has said, "As amazing as he is behind the wheel, he's even more amazing outside of the car".
This is me trying to speak to my father...I've had the same reaction as Ayrton. Could never speak without being interrupted. I could never finish. On a positive note, I've learned to let others finish speaking. I absolutely love this scene.
Good to see the ole gang together. Makes me happy but at the same time it hurts. Hurts to know they will never come together, again. Thats life n we move on.
I like how he said it's his decision and when Senna told him to change something that is necessary for safety Balestre turned it around to make it look like he was the one that made everyone vote and agree so that he can still hold his power. It's so scumbag of him to do that when it comes to driver safety. At the end of the day the leaders aren't the ones putting their lives on the line everytime they go onto the track to race in 200 mph cars. So they should respect the drivers point of view of the track conditions because they are the ones dying out there if they are ignored.
No 1:51, o Piquet está reforçando o comentário do Senna sobre um determinado item no regulamento e outro piloto interrompeu a conversa falando mais alto. No 1:56 o Senna repete várias vezes o nome do Nelson Piquet. Ele diz: "Nelson, Nelson... it is written in the regulation - we got the letter yesterday". Ali estavam todos em concordância com uma substituição de pneus por cones nas chicanes
@@diegoyoshioka And also the one who threw his hands up after Senna in at 3:15(The one in White in the front next to the Yellow guys(From Lotus I think?))
@@fabianrocha9924 yea, it was piquet who lifted his hand. Btw... on 91 he was playing for benetton not for lotus. We can see next him, pupo moreno, martin brundle (test pilot that year) and ofc Briattore next them.
