Sennheiser MD421 vs Shure SM57: Microphone Shoutout 

I now see (hear) why the md421 is used so often for toms. It captures the low end much better than the 57. But the 57 is a brighter mic so is more suited to the snare, where you can hear all the top end detail. Great comparison video!

Thanks for the comps. I hear more nuances with the SM57.

To my ear, the SM57 brings out the pop on the snare a lot better
