@Katelyn smith well in my opinion I'd think the girls are obsessed with senpai because hes kinda like the "defender" of some sort where every time he loses the world corrupts and they slowly drift away the more the world cracks it gets worse. It turns so bad to the point it becomes that purple school which is like where the game where there all happy breaks and they are I the drift of reality and the alternative world they where in and in the reality world that's where the alternative world completely cracks letting all of the spirits into that demon form of where they turn into that demon [ this is just a theory I made it's not an official thing in the fandom or anything so it's probably wrong]

Theory: the boyfriend is stuck in FNF. This soul is probably an ex who wasn’t deemed good enough. This would explain why he knows her so well. He was trapped in a game where he tries to romance girls. The boyfriend was put in a rhythm game as his punishment. The games are probably controlled by the spirits inside, which would explain the girlfriend looking normal while the parents look like demons. That is how the boyfriend sees her parents.
