The students of the Cleveland, Ohio School of Rock performing "Midnight Moses" by Sensational Alex Harvey Band in front of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Wow! 62 year old Glaswegian here and i've just found this. You boyz and girlzz have absolutely nailed this. Hats off to each and every one of you, what a performance. Btw, ive still got my ticket for SAHB, Glasgow Apollo, Thurs 18th Dec 1975.
I am so happy that great rock is still noticed by the young generation. And doing it fantastic. I would buy tickets to see this band. I bow down to you and keep great music alive.
Excellent cover, as a Scot and massive Alex fan I think you nailed it! I know Cleveland was one of Alex's favourite gigs in the USA and he was always well received there.
This is a fabulous cover of Midnight Moses by The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, one of Scotland’s greatest ever bands. Saw SAHB several times in the legendary Apollo theatre in Glasgow in the 70’s. Always total mayhem & memorable, they were ahead of their time & very inspirational to Bowie, Roxy & the UK punk generation. Thank you Cleveland, keep on rockin guys & girls 💚🏴🇺🇸
So, I'm from Cleveland. Worked in radio, record stores, and have seen/heard many, many live shows. What happens in this 4:44 video is reckless, genuine, determined, fierce and fun. Everything Alex would have wanted it to be. Hey-hey-hey-hey: You are all my heroes..
It took me four years to fall upon this gem. As a musician that has played each instrument live on this song my heart swelled seeing this. It's a quirky beat to play on drums, but the bell of the ride rules and rules all. It's a fun riff on both bass and guitar and you NAILED THE VOCALS! That WAS and IS fun! Thanx!
@@metalbastard7354 I love to see kids getting into old school stuff..Trower, Free, Mule, etc. thank God bands like Black Country Communion, rival sons are around! PS: Hughes is a living legend!🎤🎸
I used to see the SAHB back in the day in England. This is a great song choice excellently played ad with the right energy and danger. Standouts - the guitarist channeling Zal and then there's the singer...Wow is all I can say. Thank you all for this.
OMG...the more I watch this the more I cannot believe these talented young musicians have pulled of this great SAHB cover so superbly....get some more covers learnt and make your way over to Scotland, you will be amazing!!!!!!
What a voice!! Today, she must be absolutely stormin!! This band has a strong total synargy. Technically difficult song. She rips it!! The rest of the band are equally incredible!!
VERY COOL. Most people have never heard of SAHB, one of the most original hard rock/art rock bands of the early 70s. Top Notch cover. You Boyz and Girlz NAILED it!.
This was good and so heart warming to see these young people playing this song. Each one in the groove, together they were all killing it here onstage. I cried with joy when i watched this!!! Thanks for the sharing.
Amazing job kids, I know this is 3 years old, but every once in a while i come back and watch. Everyone killed it but my god... the singer... she was born to do this... i hope she continues with a rock band.
Whenever I go to a bar, I play Alex. The younger folks usually have no idea and stoll over to the juke out of curiosity. Glad I got to see this. Excellent tribute!
They are brilliant and what a refreshing sight covering the great SAHB . Alex sadly missed but this is something else. The energy from the singer and the whole bands concentration is great
One year ago maybe Check upload by "Wdiprod" comment by "Burt von Bolton" Zal's words "Love it. Kids in Ohio" Other comments also. Thank you for the music. I don't suppose the Kids will ever do Dr Hooks songs by Shel Silverstein. Not cool for school.
@@jamesmcfarlane2382 Aye it was pretty exceptional Jim. I certainly was not expecting such an energetic and obviously well rehearsed rendition of such a classic. It is good to see that young musicians recognise the significance of Alex in rock history.
This TOTALLY MADE MY DAY! nailed it ! Everyone is outstanding but the vocals worked for me big time! Soooo good. Not sure why but that rickenbacker bass seals the deal- the future is in good hands!
Now this is rockin!!! :) Nice to see kids really playing their real instruments and not relying at all on technology or effects!! Thank you for keeping real music alive!!! :)
Timeless SAHB...Kids today....get it done....First bands ever seen had Zal Cleminson..who went on to SAHB with Chris Glen etc.. Totally crazy rock based in your face stuff
SWEET Jesus GO GIRL GO !!! THE NEW Rockband !!!😁Thats the BOLLOX ALEX WOULD CLAP !!!HE ALWAYS Had TIME For TRYERS 😁BRILLIANT 67 OLD LIMEY Hope YOU GET SINGHNED UP R I.P.ALEX g
Hang on! These school of rock kids shouldn't be THIS GOOD! Add to that how most American bands (even very high profile ones) get the wrong vibe when covering UK rock bands, you all nailed this! And that girl on vocals emulates the original (intoxicated) performance with the same energy while (presumably) sober - amazing!
The boys playing the guitars could take a leaf out of the little bass players book and dress up a bit.... Singer is awesome..... Go SAHB👊 Vambo Rules Ok
Wow how to brighten up someone's day what a fukin amazing rendition of Sahb - superb in every way - very tight and very very very enjoyable - more power to you 💪 brilliant!!! ❤
I don't know who that chick on lead vocals is but she ripped it here! Saw her doing backing vocals on "Time Has Come Today," and I could see she was just wanting to bust loose! Keep at it, girl, we're all gonna' know who you are one day!
I've been a huge SAHB fan for years, and these kids are nothing short of fantastic! Do they stay together as a band, or is it just a school thing? Hope they stay together so I can try to catch them live. Keep it up, you guys ROCK! Vambo Rool!
I feel like I made a comment already but if not let me say this, I’ve seen quite a few school of rock performances being a music teach and THIS performance is very very good. I hope this singer, especially …. Has gone on to something bigger. Good job to this band and this particular school of rock.
What these School Of Rock bands do is kinda cool generally, but one problem I've noticed is a lot of reliance on the same handful of tired hits we've all heard done to death. This is a cool surprise- a cover of an excellent song that even a lot of older "classic rock" fans don't know (but should).
The Music Director of the Cleveland location has a wide and deep knowledge of music...and is obviously passing that knowledge along to the next generation of musicians.
@@MidWestConcertVideo2 he is obviously not. nill passion, zero understanding of the why and how to perform this song. worst cheap copy ever listened to.
Likely Alex Harvey died around the time their parents were born. I saw The Sensational Alex Harvey Band many times at the Roxy in LA. Harvey always put on a great show. He was far more influential then most people outside of music know.
@@meliad5232 You're excellent - you make it look like playing bass is the easiest thing ever and it really isn't! Hope you're still hitting a stage once in a while :) You guys absolutely smashed Waiting Room too!
