An excellent review as always Sir. With the Puretech engines and the wet belts the non Turbocharged units prove to be a bit more realible, on the turbocharged units these were subject to a recall but not on the non turbo units, even through the breaking up of the belt is the same issue. Also if it has a smart alternator make sure it has been the subject of the recall to update the ecu. Otherwise you will end up with a flat battery when you least expect it. Ask me how i know.... You can bypass it by unplugging the connector plug of the alternator for a temporary fix. If peugeot decide not to do it under recall a specialist will do it for £120.
Oh my. The VTi and not the Pure Tech ? but with the robotised manual auto. This will be as bad as a C4 Picasso auto in years to come. Car kinda looks ok if hum drum. This is below a Duster for me in horn/want/desire. I’d just get best engine in later Duster in orange and be done with it. Manual please. Or auto if a Torque converter. If I won this or was given it for free. I’d sell it as quickly as can. The Crossway best guess is same as Dacia range of Stepways. Or Scout in Skoda lingo. Obv just the wheel arch cladding zero additional mechanicals.
The early Puretech engines were badged as VTi, but they are essentially very similar. The C4 Picasso probably used many of the same engines and gearboxes. The Dacia Duster is actually a pretty decent car, to be honest, if you avoid the really early ones.
Door bins in this diminutive Peugeot’s it’s Piste’d’Resistance. Row those jerk jerk gears to that 14.9 to 62. Beautiful. Even slow in car entertainment. Best guess is the French are still laughing at us. We won’t hand the glovebox or owt. They’ll have our below par offering on a cheap Steliantis just add fuel pcp deal and they’ll love it. Those Roast Beef.
It wasn't actually as slow as I thought it be given the 0-60 mph figures. I imagine a manual one of these would be all right to drive. The 108 bhp turbo version with the six speed automatic (a different gearbox) would be much better.
Whilst I appreciate the styling is a little subjective, I find it hard to believe it’s a nearly 10 year old car! If it was wearing a 24 plate I don’t think I would question it - a sign of good design? Really like the basic but functional black plastic rear bumper - like they used to be back in the 90’s!
The facelifted ones do look a bit better, to be honest. The black bumper on the rear did look very appropriate, I must say. I suppose it would have looked very modern when they were launched back in 2013.
ETG on the larger saloons. Is this essentially just the EGC? I was nearly bidding at a 508 earlier with the Robot manual, cough. Auto. I did second think myself and remembered my simple life of small capacity petrols and left the bid.
@@lloydvehicleconsulting takes zero to no thought. The auto takes some thought. Is it Jap. Is it good Jap. Is it early S Tronic DSG CVT nastyness. A manual just performs. That said tired cycling legs I’m more and more wanting an Auto. 47 vs 17-21. Guess it’s normal. I’ve got old
