Tifo: Barcelona's identity is drifting Also Tifo: Barcelona need a RCM with bite basically a younger Vidal. Me: ?*#! Also Me: Prioritizing players with Height, Physicality & Long Passing ranges above Technical ability, are attributes associated with & what has caused the drifting identity Tifo pointed out! We don't need a young Vidal, we need Xavi's successor & that's THIAGO ALCANTARA
ZeEa Fraud Thiago is a good shout, very well rounded midfielder. Edit: Sorry not a good shout. He already came through Barca’s academy and I don’t think Barca would want him back. Plus his age means his legs will give in quite soon. Fred is currently still the best option imo.
Signing Fred is actually really smart, they are lacking box to box midfielders like him and he will deffo be even better for Barca than United since the PL requires physicality whereas La Liga is more technical. Because Fred isn't a very physical presence, he definitely will improve even more at Barca. Plus Portugese is similar to Spanish so he can settle in quickly and he's friends with Neymar who also will probably go there.
@@jencildmello9567 are you dumb, he clearly said he wishes he WOULD, not that he will. Get some English lessons bro, cant be out here correcting folks without knowing what they are talking about and trying to seem smart. Get outta here with that
Fabian Ruiz from Napoli and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio would be awesome addition to the middlefield along with De Jong; both only at the age of 24 & 25 while offering physicality (avg 190cm or 6.2ft) and balanced in defense and creative attack.
Credit to Tifo for undertaking this video with so many things up in the air for Barcelona's transfer window. The positions that will be reinforced is more about what Barcelona can afford instead of what positions the club needs to reinforce. That said, the selections made by Tifo seem to fit the theme that clubs (especially Barça) won't have much money to spend this summer. Here are some notes to the choices... Striker - Donyell Malen and Joaquin Correa both fit the budget, but Correa not being a natural striker should disqualify him as a "sensible" transfer immediately. That was the problem with Griezmann and his profile is 1.5x that of Correa. Malen does make sense but he would be a stretch as ready to come in and contribute now. Barcelona obviously wants Lautaro Martínez, but the club is going to have trouble affording him this summer. More than any other, this is the position that needs to be reinforced. Midfielder - Transfers out will dictate this position. Culés will be furious, but there is no guarantee Rakitic and Vidal will actually be leaving the club. Tifo does a great job of explaining how wages is the bigger reason to move on these players even more than the low transfer fee they will attract - but those wages are also the reason they might not find buyers. I agree that the profile that Barcelona would look for is that "Vidal-type", and the selections are reasonable. Caqueret, Sangare, and Fred (who may be too expensive) would all make sense, but the club is bringing in Pjanic. Between Busquets, de Jong, and Pjanic, a player that will play as a deeper midfielder (as three of those are) may not be necessary, at least this coming season. Vidal's best asset for Barcelona is actually is ability to support the spine of the team with his movement behind the forwards and into the box (plus the goal-scoring). He's known for his tackling abilities, but replacing Vidal is a little more complicated than that. Defender - We've spoken about Dest at length (1/2 American bias on the podcast), and it does seem like the easier answer, Emerson, will be sold anyway. Where Tifo gets it wrong is slotting in Roberto as the starting RB. That is Nelson Semedo's position at the moment, and while an upgrade is wanted by the fan base, Sabelli and Tejero are certainly not better than Semedo. Dest isn't either, but he may be someday soon. Sabelli and Tejero are "sensible" (read affordable), so again credit to Alex Stewart and company for the selections. Lastly, really enjoy these and look forward to seeing other teams again!
With carles alena coming back and monchu promoted to first team probably cmf is not a position they need. At cb if garcia returns, they need one more, . They also need a young winger as Dembele is mostly injured. Semedo is going great . He isn't one to be replaced either.
How about putting Messi in the Vidal role? Puig and Messi as the midfield pivot. Add Monchu there as well. This would allow us to work with a normal right fullback, as opposed to a full back who operates as a wing back, leaving our right side either exposed in the back or in the front. Buying a real pacey striker like Malen should also be imperative. Not another second striker, we already have those in Braithwaite and Griezmann.
For most players 27 is within their physical prime. Thay said, Barca cannot and should not go from one age extreme to the other with only a bunch of 17 to 23 years olds. A couple of high quality mid to late 20s year olds are actually necessary... experience is still necessary.
For me, a player that has come recently and is already getting into my eyes is Patrick di Paula, from Palmeiras. The boy is a machine, hard worker with a athleticism “Europe ready”, watch out for this boy
They should have signed Werner, imagine a trident of Griezmann, Messi and Werner. If you sign Lautaro, you're gonna have the same problem in fitting Griezmann.
What, another striker? So they'll play three strikers up front? Where's the width in that attack? Griezmann can't lead the line, he's not a true number 9, which Lautaro is, so Lautaro would be ideally the best like-for-like switch for Suarez. Griezmann doesn't have a position at Barca, his best position (second striker playing off a main striker) is occupied by Messi. What Barca desperately need is a wing presence, which tifo didn't recommend for some reason.
@@nihalmehmood4494 if you had seen Leipzig you would know Werner is a forward but starts from the left many times. Remember Barça 2011? We didn't have a pure 9, we played Messi as a false nine and then Villa and Pedro would always try to find spaces from the wings to the centre. Werner and Griezmann could operate similar at either side of Messi. More than flashy wingers who dribble all the time we need someone capable of running into space and with lots of space and can pressure the opposition. That man was Werner.
@@adribk2613 Messi doesn't have the stamina or the pace to play false 9 anymore though. I get what you're trying to say: I think having a proper winger and replacing Suarez with Werner would have been a great idea. Griezmann does not fit the system at all, I've given up on him at this point. He's 28 and not getting younger anytime soon.
Now that AC Milan are looking back on track with their performances lately, and Ibrahimovic is going to stay. I think a Sensible Transfers video for Milan would be great!
I firmly believe one of Barcelona's biggest mistakes is letting Thiago Alcantara go, he was the true heir to Xavi / Iniesta... his defensive abilities have vastly improved over the years.
This channel is amazing. I hope they never stop. Makes me sound smart at work when we start arguing football!! On the dest transfer, that would be amazing on the American front. To have such a young American in barça would definitely be great. But do you think he will be able to burden such hype?
Also De Jong is amazing but I think going forward he'll be much better as a 6 with less defensive duties and Barça would have to look for a guy like Rodri to hold the midfield together.
I'm quite sceptical of the midfield options given in this video as they are bot quite barcelona players. In that position we need a player as hardworking as vidal but better on the ball. And the ability to play out of tight spaces and play with his back to goal
I'm a united fan. I won't mind Fred joining Barca. He can be a good addition with De Jong and Puig on the field. But the problem is Barca has a vast load of midfielders. Gaining game time might also be hard for Fred there too.
With the way semedo has improved post setien, I think we should rather focus on a CB rather than a RB, it's high time we find a replacement for pique and I think Upamecano can do the job
Not even a mention of Nikola Vlašić? He would suit them perfectly, a young attacking midfielder who can control the game, make runs and unlock the defense, plays great for Croatia NT, can play as a LCM in a 4 3 3.
He seems to be set to leave, however Sergino Dest would be better off to stay at Ajax for one or two more years. He did well last season, but so did Mazraoui the season before, and he had a massive dip in form last season. So yeah, let Dest first reach 100 games at Ajax, let him have performed well in those 100 games, and then we can look further.
barcelona has enough of midfield options, they need a CB and a striker. Semedo is good at Rb. Also coutinho will be another option in midfield alongside la masia players and last season new signings who havent played yet. Lastly, messi most propably looks like shifting his position to attacking midfield. this is what i think.
I love sensible transfers cause not only does it informs me of these players and how they can help a particular club, but I can try to buy them in Fifa 20 lmao
barca needs some help heres a phat list of players who i think would help: neymar, de ligt, ziyech, luis javier suarez, traore, van beek, onana. (laturo and vvd would be some help but not requirments)
Midfield: Aleña. Give him a chance I beg😭 Right back: Emerson. Just keep semedo till the end of next season. I don't see why they should spend on a rb only to have one come in at the end of the next season
What if instead of Fred Barcelona use Roberto on the Right Interior position, with the experience as a Right back, he can carry the ball from deep and has the positional astuteness of a La-Masia graduate?
Beyond the "Barcelona don't make sensible transfers" how can anyone at Tifo have watched Fred play at Man Utd. and thought "Now theres a Barcelona player!"? He wasn't good enough to be a starter at Man Utd., how is he going to figure into a Barcelona midfield? Barca would just have to bring in Bruno Fernandes to fix his failures just like Utd have
Barcelona and sensible transfers are something that I've not seen together in a long long time Edit: Somehow this has become my most popualr comment xD. Im reading the discussions with much interest

@@em3g285 Arthur and Tobido too. But for all these there is Coutinho, Dembele, Griezmann, Turan, and many more. These aren't bad player's but we overpaid for their age/skill/end-product.
