• How to empty the pouch and reseal the outlet
• Measuring the stoma and cutting the barrier for a perfect fit (no visible skin!)
• Applying the barrier to clean, dry skin
• Securing the pouch to the barrier
Key things to remember!
1. Measure the stoma, then cut the barrier opening to the size that does not leave any skin exposed
• Ensure no skin is showing between the barrier and stoma to prevent skin irritation and leakage
2. Place pouch by aligning the bottom edge of the adhesive with the turquoise line at the bottom of the floating barrier
• Apply the pouch to the barrier evenly, with no wrinkles
• Make sure the landing zone on the barrier is clean and dry before applying the pouch
3. Apply the barrier to clean, dry skin
• Avoid the use of any soaps and moisturizers around the skin
4. Gently warm the barrier on the skin to activate the adhesive and ensure a good seal
• Remind the patient to gently hold their hands on the pouch for at least 2 minutes
