Worked like a charm, initially I thought the batteries died (and my wife said oh I lock the keys inside the safe ugggh) but after using your trick (about 10 minutes) I took the inside cover off and one of the connectors had actually popped off at the battery connection, I replaced the batteries reattached the wires and it’s all good, thanks, vacation in a few days and passports were in the safe.
Btw for those needing to know how to make the tool 1) it’s a close hanger, use wire cutters or pliers to shape it 2) go to the end of the video when he takes the inside cover off and you’ll just have to visualize how to shape the hanger but basically it goes in the hole, then left and then down. Hope that helps.
Unfortunately this will not work with model Sentry Safe TC8-331. The door has an asbestos plate about an inch thick and there isn't enough room left to maneuver the wire for a left turn down to the lock release.
This saved me. However, after doing this (and once I find my damn key and put it in a safe place (no pun intended), this safe is getting DIY modified to prevent this. 😅
Worked like a charm with our safe at work. Saved us some money after the batteries came loose and our backup key didn't work. To anyone having trouble, make sure the tool is bent to the left and then down. A good view of his tool is at 2:22. Once we got that it only took a minute to open it. Thank you!
Question, if you see this and might know the answer. I recently bought a similar safe, haven't messed with it yet. the Tc8-331 off of a guy. Don't have the code or key BUT the safe door is OPEN. Will just pushing the reset button inside reset the code so I can program a new one you think orr.. I don't know anything about safes.. yet. Thanks!
Ended up knocking the lock through, I then used a jigsaw to enlarge the cutout for the wires and the lock and getting to the solenoid with my finger. Won't be buying another Sentry safe, they are quite weak from a security point of view. Without the dimensions for the wire it is impossible, I spent hours adjusting the wire to what I thought was the correct length. I also tried hot wiring the red and black wire with 6 volts to no avail. My safe was a T5-330. Took me 5 minutes to break into it with a lump hammer, large screwdriver and Ryobi jigsaw with three HSS blades.

This video helped me a lot... it took me around 1hr to succeed... you may fail a lot of times at the beginning but it should work out at the end, just take a deep breath and keep repeating calmly. You will need the first length exactly 7cm and then bend it at 90 degrees. the second segment need to go inside 3 to 4 cm maximum while rotating it. hope this helps 😀
What were you saying at the beginning about applying 6 volts to? I have a power probe I can get 6v from but which wires do you apply it to, and what does it do?
My batteries were to low to open and I can't remember where i put the key. This worked and was so easy! Thank you! Now I need to get a safe that's more secure!
Buenas noches no sé si pueda traducir estás palabras pero tengo una caja sentry de esas mismas y necesito comprar ya sea por Ebay Amazon la pieza de los números de los códigos gracias Javier
I am trying this also and haven't had any luck! I snagged something on the battery pack when closing the door and didn't realize 2 batteries fell out. Have NO IDEA where the key is and may never. Now I am locked out and I have items in there that I need! :( I f I keep trying, do you think this will really work? One locksmith I called said all he could do would be to break the safe. I don't want to break it! My husband is out town and he is going to be ticked! :(
Could you help me with the following, I have this model and I have had no battery and the key is inside, but I know the code, is there a way to give it power to enter the code?
i have a scentry safe the door is open but the bars are out i cant close it my stupid husband forgot code i have sll the other codes need to reset passcode please help
I’m so thankful for this video. I used a old metal coat hanger gave it a long solid handle and a long hook had to go inn deeper than this video shows. Worked awesome
Alright, let's unpack a few things here. 1. The guy who made/posted this video isn't responsible for your robbery. 2. If you buy literally the LOWEST quality safe on the market you can hardly complain about your shit getting stolen. 3. You should've mounted it to the floor/wall like a normal person. That defeats the entire purpose of having a safe. 4. You don't downvote a video because it offends you. You downvote it because it's shit content, and this is not shit content 5. Protecting your home isn't limited to spending $200 at Home Depot and literally throwing it on the floor. Get some German Shepherds, firearms, home security system, better door locks, cameras, high-quality multi-lock safe secured to the floor, etc. and compound your security practices. 6. If the safe was taken away to the thieves den, for them to open at their convenience, they are not going to be watching youtube videos on how to open it. They already know how. And even if they don't, they would find a way in. These safes aren't exactly difficult to open either destructively or non-destructively. A child could do it. The lack of this video would not mean they'd be unable to open it. Trust me, it was open in 10 minutes with or without this method. 7. This video wasn't posted to instructed thieves. It was posted to show how weak Sentry is, to aid locksmiths and owners, and probably just for the fun of it. You have a LOT to learn about security. If you invested half as much energy into that as you do into throwing a tantrum on youtube, you'd instantly be twice as secure as you are right now.
