Well here's the thing. The "dozens of Disney owned characters" are Marvel characters. Despite being owned by Disney, they aren't Disney-original characters and are still mainly under the jurisdiction of Marvel. Sora on the other hand, was made for Disney. Despite being created by Nomura, he was made as a Disney-original character, and is the protag of a series with a lower age rating than Fortnite, which despite the cartoony look still has IRL weaponry like assault rifles and such. Disney would rather lose money than have their original creations running around with AK-47s. It's why guns in KH are either arrowguns or replaced with crossbows in terms of Pirates. Hell, back in '05 Xigbar's arrowguns were censored in the original English release of KH2 because their transformation had it turning into an automatic sniper rifle. And while it got uncensored later, the reticle remained more sci-fi and not the four lines usually associated with gun reticles in games.
