Shabbadabadoo from what I understand and in my experience with it, it works better after using mascara. But yes, it does get clumped up if you don't wipe it off right away.

Cristina Diamant hopefully you will see this comment! To insert the battery, just pull it apart where the two little arrows meet. I turn mine on when I start doing my mascara and then by the time I'm ready to use the heated curler I figure it's warm enough. You know when it's on you because when you take off the There's a tiny little light between the on off switch and the curler part. Make sure you go really slowly, hold the wind at the base of your eyelashes and just go towards the Tips extremely slowly to actually heat and hold the mascara.
