Hi, have been watching your contents for more than 10 years. In this video your inverter is not talking with the batteries, so how did you set parameters? In inverter or battery BMS? I have a Schneider xw6048 with latest firmware, Schneider told me that it won’t communicate in closed loop with the BMS. I am waiting for my EG4 wall mounted battery and yet to test it. I don’t want to buy a new inverter and trying to find a way to use battery BMS for SOC and other parameters

Can you set individual max. charge and discharge values pr. pack. Say I have 2 different sized packs, one where I wqnt max. charge of 50A and another max charge of 100A. So each BMS, individualy, regulates the current going in/out ?

Damn. I was hoping to see how you setup the comms between battery and inverters. I am waiting for two of their 200amp BMS's, and 4 of their kits to test with my MPP Solar inverters, which have similar connectivity as the Growatt. Does the connection over RS485 not run thr pylontech protocol?

mpp solar use rs485 to connect to a BMS batery. seplos implements CAN on their BMS. you can ask for a pylontech compatible firmmare. not sure if they support rs485 now.

The lithium style batteries and management system is fairly impressive. To tie the batteries and inverter together isn't really nessary they work well with out being tied together. I did a solar and wind system combo it is impressive how they can work together

Any way for a simple binary good/bad signaling from the BMS to the inverter? A "discharge okay" and a "charge okay" pair of signals would suffice for significantly better handling than "voltage level and the BMS handles protection."

Question, are you able to configure the batteries for rs485 and thereby have communication with the Growatt? Or is it a situation where the batteries cannot communicate with each other in rs485 mode?

Does anyone know where to find the software for the BMS seplos that you see in the video?

I am currently designing a utility room for a new home and am curious as to how much wall space you are using. What is the total area on the wall and lineal feet along the base of the wall? (include space for battery packs)

Good video...those seplos BMS are compatible with Schneider inverters? thanks

Great video. I'm curious about the Seplos pack. Does stacking these only give additional capacity in terms of runtime at a given discharge rate or can stacking them allow me to discharge more amps thereby giving me more kw drawn at a time?

Hey maybe you could help me, I have a problem , I can't connect to my BMS Seplos through BatteryMonitor, ... Battrery monitor is able to connect and do Firmware Update, this function works ok. But when I try to load the protocol for mybattrery 14s (ie import the protocol from the xml file) I always get an error (not correct format ... . loading protocol failed, please correct and load it again). I already tried to run the program on Windows 7, 10 and 11 unfortunately always the same error ... loading protocol filed... Are you able to guide me what could be wrong and how to work around this problem? I see that everything works fine on your computer, which version of Windows are you using? Thank you in advance for any possible help and sorry for errors I speak English poorly and write through translator.

Hi Doug hey thanks for the great videos,. I was wondering if you may have any idea if was able to use the 48v 200 amp BMS with my DYI solar battery storage project, I have purchased 4 BIG BATTERY PLBR nickel manganese Cobalt batteries, I’m using a SMA Sunny Island 6048 inverter , I notice on the Seplos website that they offer a NCM and LFP option and I’m confused as to witch one to purchase, also should I choose the Can Bus or RS-485 ? Please help ! Thanks

LFP is preferable for this type of application

I have so far received twelve junk emails from third parties at an email address used for only one thing: filling in the enquiry form on the Seplos website to request BMS manuals. Posts on diysolarforum suggest this is not a one-off occurrence. DO NOT fill in the enquiry form on the Seplos website unless you're happy receiving unsolicited emails from third parties as a result.

The batterypack with lowest SoC is taking more charging amps because its voltage is lower as well. This has nothing to do with the bms. The bms cannot send more or less current to one pack or another.

i think that the bms does have a current limiter so it can read the other batteries soc and adjust the amp input

When is someone going to make a BMS with a charger for each cell? The current BMS that shut down every cell because of one is stupid. NO CELL should be shut down unless it is faulty. Over charged? Why? just stop charging that cell.
@mwolrich
@mwolrich 2 года назад
Because they are connected in series, not possible to fully isolate individual batteries

Remember lead acid? If you got your = , - on correct, you were set to go for years. This constant baby setting of lithium cells, is BS.
@Sylvan_dB
@Sylvan_dB 3 года назад
Yes, I remember lead acid. Equalization, hydrogen sulfide venting, adding distilled water, ... When it comes right down to it, lead acid benefits from careful management. Lithium requires careful management.
