Well that was a much bigger move than I expected! Oh well...goodbye KC! I love Soho! I've got the album Hippychick is from (Goddess)...it's damn good too! Check out Out of My Mind, Another Year, and Goddess...great tracks!! Thug was great and then they disappeared. I loved Thug and hope it's on vinyl one day. Not sure what happened, but I imagine the sisters are working as corporate secretaries and graphic designers somewhere in London now...I've got to be TOTALLY wrong but it's a thought! They were so good and underrated. Must have been some kind of split with Tim (The music behind them)...again...not sure. Or the label just lost interest after Thug flopping. That ABC album is actually their 2nd, and was VERY controversial at the time for being so much heavier than the debut. Trevor was not producing and they were down to a trio already. The album sold poorly, only the first track got much airplay, and this led to their hyperpop reinvention once more for the Zillionaire album when they slimmed down to a duo (or a fake quartet if you count the cartoon character additions). SOS is actually NOT an ABBA cover, but a VERY beautiful electronic ballad...One of the highlights of that album. I used to really NOT like the record as it seemed they abandoned so much of the magic of the first record. Now I really like it, even the heavier stuff, and feel they were just trying to prove how versatile they could be...a risky move on a sophomore record! Thank God they managed to survive and thrive for a while before Mark White left (I'm still sad about this as I think Abracadabra is such a fantastic soul record, highly underrated, marketed during a time that Nirvana and techno were dominating the waves). You probably won't like Beauty Stab on first listen (I can almost guarantee that), but some tracks will stick out the first time...Love That Was Then But This is Now with it's odd Thatcher-psychedelia lyrics, the orchestral By Default By Design, the aforementioned SOS, the brooding Love's a Dangerous Language, and the stately closer United Kingdom. A dark rock record very concerned with political and economic topics. Best of luck with your new venture in your new home and thanks for spoiling us with more videos! And you're right that Japanese Whispers sounds great!
You're the second person to comment on the photo they chose for that Morrissey album. It doesn't make a lot of sense, does it? It is a great concert though. Mazzy Star is fantastic. Congratulations on your move!
Congratulations on your move! I am sure you will be very happy in your place and you got closer to Mike and Richard 😊 great picks , I need Japanese Whispers ❤
