If you skip to 14:40 into the video there is a scene where a bigger fish was trying to eat the smaller fish I had on, even though it wasn't really all that small of a fish. The chase went on for almost a 1/2 a minute and then I cast immediately back in the hole and catch the trout that was trying to eat my fish.

Geez Brent, for years I’d never seen you catch anything but donkeys until the “normal” fish at 13:15. It’s good to know you’re actually human. Endless, amazing cutties. I guess you’ve effectively demonstrated the rod’s ability to handle larger fish. I was watching the tip action closely, am curious to know if you were using a weighted fly on the first two catches. Thanks for sharing!

I did catch a lot of smaller fish but I left them out due to the video already being too long, I catch lots of small fish I just like to share the bigger ones. I think I had 2 flies on for the first 2 fish but I used unweighted flies for all of the video.

The new rod handled these fish great and the smaller fish were still fun, I left the video of the smaller trout out of the video because it was already too long. I feel like we actually surpassed my design goals for this new rod, especially in the cast weight (rotational moment) department.

What is the rotational moment of that rod, Brent - is it less than 6? As a comparison, what is the rotational moment of, say, the HELLbender? I’m guessing it’s more in the 7 to 8 range, would that be correct? Thanks…
