Happiness, The Doom Generation, and Repo Man are all in my Top 50 Favorite Films of All Time. The Long Good Friday is a great film. The September releases is the best bunch of releases we have gotten in a long time.
Hi, DJ! The Long Good Friday interests me the most out of these new Criterion titles. And as a lover of clever wordplay, I love John's idea for a Tales of Hoffman box set honoring my favorite contemporary actor, Philip Seymour Hoffman.
Fun video. One of the most interesting month of releases all year. LONG GOOD FRIDAY and REPO MAN are entertaining films. Looking forward to watching ALL OF US STRANGERS. Haven't seen Araki's debut F'D UP, but I liked DOOM GENERATION, less enthused about NOWHERE. This boxset has been rumored for a while, glad to see it actually become real. HAPPINESS, I also liked, has been rumored to be released for a longtime, even before LIFE DURING WARTIME was released. I was thinking, in the past, you mentioned about thinning out your collection of unwanted releases, perhaps you could create a guessing live podcast, of course it could be over in seconds or last a while depending on how hard you pose the question and who is up for guessing. Could be fun, I suspect you have a pretty knowledgeable groups of members, so it should be pretty quick. To make the podcast longer perhaps something like 20 questions or hints.
