Congratulations to Sadie and Ed!!! Your proposal video at the ruins gave me a huge smile! Also, Bloodsworn is an excellent choice for favorite fantasy series of all time.
Major congrats again on the engagement, the love and joy just radiates off you two 🤩 Can't wait to read the finale to Bloodsworn, I have no doubts that it's as amazing as you guys are promising it is. And love to hear your brutally honest take on The Way of Kings. I am currently rereading it and having a blast, but I can totally see where you are coming from with your critiques. Sanderson has a style and if it's not jiving with you, then it's a slog for sure. As for The Grace of Kings though... PLEASE do yourself a favour and try book 2 because that is completely different and shares a lot of the best things of Shauna Lawless and even Abercrombie's writing, especially in characterization. Also, can't wait to hear your thoughts on ACOTAR. Sadie has brilliant taste, that last book is so addictive and has some of the best mental health exploration I have read in romantasy. I LOOOOVE those characters. Cheers 🥰
Congrats on the engagement! I said this in another video, but thank you so much for introducing me to The Rigante. Since you posted about it in one of your other recent videos, I've been devouring the series. Almost finished with book 2. This is shaping up to be one of my all time favorite series at this pace and I know it's one I'll go back to for many re-reads. So thank you again!
Don’t worry Ed I read ACOTAR with my wife I enjoyed them for what they are not being a big romance fan. A recommendation for Sadie, I read the Shepard king duology with my wife as well and that one is really really good. It is a romantasy!
I love seeing these couple romantasy read alongs! Thank you so much for the recommendation, I’ve actually just finished the first one and really loved it!
Yessssssssss welcome to the Dungeon Crawler Carl fandom!!! The best is yet to come for you too, since I think Dinniman needed a few books to really hit his stride with it all. The Dandelion Dynasty reads so different from his short stories, and this series didn’t fully click with me either and I likely think you would not love the next books in the series either. Can’t wait to read more Gemmell books past the Drenai series. Congrats on the engagement 💪
@@thebrothersgwynne it’s a close race between bks 4-6!! I think Gate of the Feral Gods might’ve been my favorite on first read and Eye of the Bedlam Bride my favorite on reread, but catch me on another day and the Butcher’s Masquerade will be my favorite of the bunch! The cool thing is I’m pretty sure the best is yet to come 💪
Congratulations Ed and Sadie!😊 A shame you didn’t get into «Grace of Kings», Will, my personal favorite in the series, but I am an outlier among fans of the series, with book #2, «Wall of Storms» as the favorite by many more! And currently reading «Midnight Falcon»! Will, very interested to get to «The Black Tongue Thief» and «The Daughter’s War» next year! In September I read three Rosemary Sutcliffe novels: 2 YA Historical Fiction Novels, «The Silver Branch» & «The Lantern Bearers» (set in Ancient Britain during the Late Roman and the Roman Withdrawal & Saxon Invasions, respectively) and an Arthurian Historical Fiction novel, «Sword at Sunset», all loosely connectied to each other following a family over generations, with the POV character of «The Lantern Bearers» as a mentor figure and his son one of Arthur’s companions in «Sword at Sunset». I also finished «Sword in the Storm» («Rigante» series #1) by David Gemmell (S&S/Heroic Fantasy, inspired by Celtic Britain and the Roman Invasions), «The Eternal Champion» Trilogy Omnibus by Michael Moorcock (Multiverse S&S/(Anti-?)Heroic Fantasy) and «Lustrum» (US: «Conspirata», «Cicero»-Trilogy #2) by Robert Harris (Historical Fiction about the Roman Statesman, either that one or «Sword in the Storm» might be my Book of the Month)! Cheers!
I really need to get into the Blacktongue books for sure! Yesssss Silver Flames was great!! Sjm is supposed to be writing an Elaine book at some point? Have you read her other works or just ACOTAR Sadie? I would recommend checking out book two in the Dandelion Dynasty as it reads completely different. Love this video and seeing you guys so hyped about your engagement is adorable! Congrats again! Hope Uni is going well Will! ❤️
I have heard some rumours about another ACOTAR book.. I really hope it’s true! That’s the only SJM I’ve read but definitely want to read some more. Have you read TOG Faye? Aww ☺️ Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️
@@mercedes_hall I’ve read everything except the newest Crescent City because I’m waiting for the paperback! Personally I like TOG more because it’s more fantastical but the romance in ACOTAR is unparalleled. I’m not as sure about Crescent City, book one was good, book 2 not so much. But I need to read 3 because of something big that happens. I love the “cover of ACOSF” 😉 absolutely gorgeous! He did good 🤩
@@bookschocaholic that’s good to know, thanks Faye. I’ve heard that there’s two different orders to read TOG?! What one did you start with? 😂 🤣thank you. He did very, very good. He’s a clever man 🤍
@@mercedes_hall I started with Throne of glass. Personally I’d recommend leaving Assassin’s Blade (the other one you can start with) until the end or at least until after Tower of Dawn.
Sadie I'm telling you - Throne of Glass is way better than the ACOTAR series. You must give it a go! I know people think it won't be good b/c it's YA, but it's really well done. Also I think TOG appeals more to guys than ACOTAR. If I can get a Patterson/Baldacci-reading guy in his 60s to read the whole series willingly, that should lend some credence to my opinion 😄
Congratulations!!!....LOL...silly me thought you two were already married 😅....by the way, do you need to read the two prior Gemmel books, or can you just read Ravenheart as is?
