The city of Praia Grande is one of the most important on the São Paulo coast. With a territorial area of 149,652 km², and an estimated population of 349,935 inhabitants. The city has one of the busiest beaches in Brazil, and was chosen by the Ministry of Tourism as the fourth city that receives the most tourists in Brazil during the summer season, receiving the title of "the fastest growing city in Brazil."
