Septima - Solo Review - Not Bored Gaming 

Thanks for the vid! I bought the game because of the theme. And that the fact that it was a "lighter" Mindclash game. (I don't play expert games, except Ark Nova. I don't know if Dune Imperium is considered as "expert") Yr video made me understand some details about the solo variant. I found it less intuitive and fluid than the whole game, especially the negotiation cards. I also find that the sectors should have been more clearly identified with clear colours! And I also fear that the actions become repetitive (as in Honey Buzz, that 's the 1st ex. that comes into my mind) (as for the "carrot" ingredient, I believe it's a mandrake, a root particularly sought after by witches!)

I picked up the Deluxe Edition of Septima at Essen this year, but after a couple of plays (solo) I'm not loving it either. Think I'm selling or trading it.. such a shame, I do absolutely love the art and production quality (those metal coins, resources and game trays are wonderful!) Thanks for this review, good to know it's not just me. I also picked up Voidfall. Haven't gathered the courage to begin yet, but your opinion on the solo mode is promising!

Thank you so much for the review. As a Mindclash game, it was an auto buy for me, but you are raising many points that I was eager to see people address. I don't mind a 2H session of Voidfall or Perseverance, but if the game loses appeal before the end, and is not that deep, That's a problem. I like a medium euro here and there if it takes about an hour to play. I have removed it from my shopping list and will wait to hear more people thoughts, but passing on it would probably be the reasonable thing to do.

I agree with a lot of what you said in this review. I love Mindclash games, but this game hasn't quite hit the mark for me (solo plays only). I am hoping that the multiplayer experience is going to be better so that the game is worth keeping in my collection.

Kinda ironic to see this game here as it's probably one of the most boring board games I played. Like it seems they wanted to make a harder game, but went different direction and it's just meh.

This is a very pixelated video. Perhaps raise the resolution of your videos. Minimum would be 1080 60p.
