Glad to see you visually explain septum diameter. People often confuse their gauge and diameter with size when ordering their jewelry. 8mm hangs for my gf like a 12mm would for me even though we're both 16g.

I finally got good at changing out my jewelry but it took 5-6 months! I used to be scared every time. now I can find the hole without even trying to look (not like I can see it up there anyway - it's kinda high lol). don't give up! I can't wear 8mm rings. I got one stuck in my nose once because it was too tight and it freaked me out hahah
I got my septum pierced around 8 weeks ago and I'm about to get it changed for the first time. I definitely prefer the 16g (pierced with a 14g) and i'm in the same boat, I got an 8mm circular barbel and the balls sit just inside my nostrils and the 10mm I got pierced with is now too big for my face after the swelling went down. I am a middle size with everything, including shoes and clothes, so I'm on the hunt for a 9mm too lol. This video was really helpful, great to see a comparison with someone with the same type of sizing as me. I got mine from Crazy Factory and they are super affordable and come in the right size, thanks so much!

I agree with you. 8mm rings (and horseshoes) are barely visible for my nose, 10mm jewellery is too big but 9 is perfect. It is indeed frustrating to find interesting 9mm 1.6mm jewellery
@@kareestrachan1295 I got my septum pierced this last week! I think it looks a little crooked but the horseshoe is a little big, so I'm hoping once it's healed I can switch it to a smaller, gold one.
@Shaunice Shell the swelling went down on mine and I noticed that it seems straight. BUT GIRL, I've noticed I was pierced low... Which is what makes my jewelry look bigger than it should. 😭😭 I'm like so upset, I've been thinking about it for days. I was on esty yesterday trying to find a small hoop, because the 8mm size horseshoe I bought was hanging too low, it's wasn't subtle at all. I got a 6mm too and I'm hoping that will look small on me. If all else fails, I'm getting a 4 or 5 mm gold hoop and just puttwthat in :/ I'm sure yours is straight! For some reason the swelling maked it look crooked. Def. Check if you were pierced too low. Because apparently it happens a lot.
@Shaunice Shell update I ended up getting the 6mm small gold horseshoe from Esty. It's way more subtle than what I had. Looks better. I've had it in for a whole month and had no problems. I also ordered a 5mm full on hoop to see if it's a snug fit. Overall, I do like my septum now. Way easier to heal than my nose piercing! Hope yours is doing well!
@@JaMVengenz that’s awesome girl! Same thing happen to me with my septum with it being pierced too low and a bit crooked. I changed it to a 8 mm ring, I think, and it fit snuggly and looks cuter now thank goodness ☺️🥰

I get a dry/flaky nose too a little bit with my septum, think it usually calms down when I’ve changed my jewellery, must be because your nose gets a bit angry at your for fiddling around eg I sometimes struggle to close a clicker or put a ball on a horse shoe, I think that’s why x
I felt the same way! That the 8mm is too small, and the 10mm is too big! 🤣 I’ve found a place that has 9mm rings, so I’m going to buy it to see if that helps.
Is missing Medusa piercing in connection with a tiny, tiny chain to septum ring! Try to do it. (When you move your upper lip, you will have some sensation...) As tiny the ring, as beauty the face!
I’m an herbalist so I create herbal oil blends for the skin and I put it on the tip of my nose every day and I’ve been able to combat the dryness. I recommend using skin oils.

if you have a pair of pliers you can gently try to open that pincher up a little bit so the gap fits your septum! I have a fat nose so to get the look I like I have to buy smaller sized rings and open them up some
I have a 10 gauge septum now, when I got it done they used a 16 , I've had mine since September 6 of 2022, I'm 56 years old, my family thought I was joking about getting it done, but to there surprise I did it.
Have you seen Lady Gaga's Septum jewelry collection in the news or online? She had the best collection I have ever seen. Those jewelries are not easy to find online.
It is indeed Hugin & Munin ;) It's from an online shop called Alvestein. The other with a knot was a gift from my parents, so probably a local shop, and the braided one I got from ebay :) Hope that helps!

I don't know the gauge and diameter of my septum because my piercer didn't tell me. I don't know what to do, I forgot to ask. I don't want to accidentally size up/down.
There's a lot of options! You can visit or call your piercer to ask, or you can find a measurement chart and measure your current jewelry. Hope that helps!

PLEASE READ AND HELP Idk it might be a stupid question but I got my first septum and the thickness/ gauge of it is 1.2mm/16g but then I’m look at septum piercing online it says diameter and I think I’m 6mm but it’s hard to find 6mm and everywhere I see is 8mm diameter. Does that mean I have to stretch my septum ? Please help
No, stretching is for the thickness/gauge and is not necessary if you want a bigger diameter. You can wear 6mm (or 8mm) diameter if you want to. If I remember correctly I had some earrings with 6mm diameter in some of my earlier piercing haul videos which could be used as septum rings. Good luck :)
@@ingiwielgus5342 No problem. I actually just looked at Crazy-Factory's website and if you search for "segment ring with hinge" in surgical steel, they have both 6, 7 and 8 mm diameters in a 1.2mm thickness :)

In any case in my eyes you have a super look, a great style and a unique way of being that represents you perfectly; i allow myself to tell you this because it’s our way of being ourselves while being different from other’s. I think so. It's probably just the same as stretching your septum, so it might be a little tender and sore for a little while and you might have to wait about a month or so for it to heal again
@@aydenmartinez3173 Maybe, maybe not. Depends on a lot of things, like how long it's in, how long you've had the piercing, how your body adjust... If it's too tight, you can always use a small taper to fit the other one in. Shouldn't be too hard since it's not a big difference between the two
