I just realized there is a very powerful feature on the seqtrak. As you can resample form the device itself, you can play one of the synth tracks (let's say the chords), resample them and use them as a sample in your song. With that you can use the synth track you used for the chords with another instrument. This makes the device soo much more useful.
That’s an excellent observation! The ability to resample directly on the seqtrak opens up a world of creative possibilities. The seqtrak has many limitations, which often make me feel inconvenienced, but on the flip side, there seems to be joy in creatively leveraging those constraints.
The connection is very simple. You just need to connect the nanokey2 and the Seqtrak with a USB cable. However, you need to change the MIDI channel on the nanokey2 using a Mac/PC and the editor software. It's a bit troublesome.
Seqtrak has USB Type-C (power, MIDI to host, MIDI to device, audio), so by connecting the USB port of the nanoKEY2 to it, you can control the Synth Track of Seqtrak via MIDI from the nanoKEY2. In this video, to access Synth1 on Seqtrak (receiving MIDI channel: 8), I set the transmission MIDI channel of the nanoKEY2 to 8.
Thank you for your comment. This is what is commonly referred to as a DAWless setup. With the YAMAHA SEQTRAK, you can create music without a laptop since it combines the functions of a sequencer, drum machine, synthesizer, and sampler. The KORG nanoKEY2 is connected to the SEQTRAK as a MIDI controller to operate its synthesizer functions.
To change the MIDI transmit channel of the nanoKEY2, you will need a software called "nanoKEY2 KORG KONTROL Editor" and a laptop (mac/win). Please try downloading the software from the following URL. www.korg.com/us/support/download/product/0/156/
