Hi, thanks for you comment! I don't have an Uno Synth, so I'm not familiar with the details, but it appears that the Uno Synth has MIDI in-out ports, so it might be possible to connect it to the Seqtrak's MIDI in-out ports.
Thank you for your comment. The three synthesizers on the SEQTRAK have each fixed MIDI receive channels, so it’s necessary to change the MIDI channel on the MPK. To elaborate, when recording the bass track, press the Program Select on the MPK, then choose Program 2 (already set to MIDI transmit channel 9). Afterward, press the knob for Synth2 on the SEQTRAK (MIDI receive channel = 9) and then the record button, putting the Synth2 track in a ready-to-record state.
Hi, thanks for your comment. The drum part has been pre-programmed with step input for four bars. On the other hand, the synthesizer part is being played in real time to the four-bars drum loop using an AKAI MPK mini. When controlling SEQTRAK with the AKAI MPK mini, it is necessary to change the MIDI transmit channel of the AKAI MPK mini using software called MPK Mini III Program Editor, which can be a bit of a hassle.
@@algaebeats Is it possible to assign the channels with just the hardware itself? The keys are set to Channel 1, which seems to be kick, and the pads are all 10, which is the DX. It looks like the channels just coincide through the drums, then 8, 9, 10 for the three synths. I wasn't sure if this could be done without a computer. Or if there is a preset that makes the pads the drums and the keyboard the synth etc. Thanks!
Thank you for your comment. As far as I know, you cannot switch channels with just the hardware alone. I have made a tutorial video on how to download and use the MPK mini Program Editor, so please take a look if you're interested. Thanks for the videos. I bought the Seqtrak recent. Great machine. But I am having trouble with my Akai Mini Play keyboard. I tried plugging directly into the Seqtrak with USB-B and USB-C cable and the sounds are backwards. Do I need to buy an audio interface, or do I need to change settings to make it work?
Thank you for your comment. I do not have the AKAI MPK mini Play, so it is difficult for me to comment this issue. Generally speaking, if you want to use the MPK mini Play as a MIDI controller, you need to turn off the built-in sound engine. Additionally, if you want to control synthesizers of the SEQTRAK, you need to use the MPK Mini Play Editor to change the MIDI transmit channel of its keybed. As for the audio interface, based on what I see in the SEQTRAK manual, it seems unnecessary. If you connect the SEQTRAK and the MIDI device directly, it should operate powered by the SEQTRAK.”
@@algaebeats Hi there, could you tell me if you know how did you configure through Akai Mini Play Editor? It would be great if you gould help me by telling me how you change the midi transmit channel in order to make it comunicate with Seqtrak. On my Akai mpk mini play the 8 pads are by default setted for various DAWs Ableton etc. Do i have to use one of those presets to assign to the Seqtrak ? Sorry for all those questions. Thanks!!
@sfupmoron Hi thank you for you comment. Unfortunately the default 8 pads presets don’t work for the SEQTRAK. In this video, I was controlling three SEQTRAK synthesizers with the MPK mini. If you want to control Synth1 (midi receive channel = 8), please set the number of “KEYBED/CONTROLS MIDI CHANNEL” at the bottom of the editor to 8. Next, you need to send the current settings in the editor to the MPK mini by following the steps of “File > Send Favorite > Favorite 1”. Then, by calling up “Favorite 1” on the MPK mini, you can control SEQTRAK’s Synth 1 with its keybeds. By the way, the midi channels for the other synthesizers on the SEQTRAK are 9 for Synth2 and 10 for DX.
