Thank you! If you get it you will have fun with it, no doubt, more if you pair it with the MAX.

Great video. I used have my drumtracks with the digidrums rock kit eprom set inside. Miss it 😢

Thank you! The rock kit eprom is amazing! Sorry you had to let it go.

I had one of these back in the early 90s, hooked up to a Sequential Sixtrak and an Oberheim Prommer. I don’t get very nostalgic about it now though, it was hard work using it. A couple of tricks i used that you might like to try is to immediately follow a Tom or cymbal hit with a second hit set to zero volume which then mutes the first hit, gives a sort of gated reverb effect. The other thing is to reposition the 4-eproms of the cymbal sounds in a different order so instead of playing a single cymbal sound that fades smoothly to zero volume, you get a chopped cymbal sound where the volume fades are out of sequence.

Great tricks! I will play with it and let you know how it went.

I too had a similar hook up with the drumtracks & oberhiem prommer which I used as a sampler & a korg poly 61m. Apart from cables everywhere it was fun 😊

Not sure but I think Warren Cann used this on Ultravox's 'Love's Great Adventure' with characteristic pitch changes on the bass drum.

Thanks for sharing Rebecca, I have seen tons of videos of Midge Ure showing their synths and using the LM-1 and other drums but not the Drumtraks in those videos, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they use it.

@@NostalgicExplorer I think it was the drum machine that Warren bought after his Linn, and possibly used on 'White China' too.

@@RebeccaTurner-ny1xx I love the Lament album and I am listening the song now and indeed I can hear the Drumtraks and its identifiable kick. Such a great song, too.

Lots of Linn sounds in there.

The rim and hi hats are probably the ones that approach the most. I find the Linn more warm than this one.

It's a great drummachine. Got that 80s sound. Still have mine. I notice you have a different (and great sounding) kick sound, not the default eprom. I always have a fight with the swingmode😊

Yeah, it is a nice machine and definitely sounds very 80s. I was not aware that the kick sound was different from the original. Good to know because I heard complaints about the kick with this machine and thought people were being too harsh, now I understand.

Not a surprise, all sounds from the Drumtraks were "lifted" from the DMX, Linn Drum and LM-1.

Funny that the Drumtraks video is 8:08 long.

😂 didn't notice that. Good observation.

Why do you have so much reverb, even on your voice? Or does your room echo like this?
@NostalgicExplorer
@NostalgicExplorer 5 месяцев назад
Hey! The voice is actually compressed and no echo was added, maybe a bit of the room? but it sounds good to me. The Drumtraks does have a bit of Reverb I added to the mix :)
