Great little demo here--thanks! It's a testament to your taste that so many people think it sounds like a famous melody/arpeggio. Cheers from California.
The OB6 was pretty good before, but now it sounds much closer to a '80s Oberheim. Will be interesting to see what the next one is like from Sequential..
Question. I don’t know much about synths but I love watching these type of videos. Is this a sequence that’s playing or are you running midi information into the synth?
@@perfectcell6785 If you're looking for Sequential I suggest to take a look on Rev2 or Take 5 as a first synthesizer. There are plenty of tutorials on YT... Take you time, find your sound... try not to use presets :-)
Sounds lush! Are you sending midi notes from something external or is it from the internal sequencer? If internal, how do you create the long bass notes please underneath the arp - is that by using ties for the bass? Thanks
@@rustboymusic Okay cool, thanks for letting me know, much appreciated :). If I can ask 1 more Q pls..Are you able to tie individual notes in a sequence? For example you could just tie the bass note in a chord sequence or can you only tie the step as a whole?
How was the panning/stereo effect accomplished? Just the panning knob or any other effects/steps? And was this done via midi int to the Ob6 or is this a sequence using its sequencer?
Originally high notes have been played with the internal sequencer and I played octave long bass notes with my left hand. But for this video I did this with midi. For the stereo just pan knob is used, nothing else.
It’s still difficult to find the OB-6 beta OS updates 1.6.4 and 1.6.6, both of which implement the vintage knob function, let alone find any instructions on how to use it. FYI, I searched long and hard and found one download on the Sequential Forum. Obviously “Rustboy”, who posted this video, has found one of these beta OSs and managed to get it all going, and it sounds awesome. Anyone with additional information as to when Sequential might release a new OS with this function added, or with other additional information, please don’t hesitate to add comments. Thanks
it's not difficult to find them, they're both posted on the sequential forum. You need to register to see them but they're easily accessible after a quick search. I just got an OB6 and had the new 1.6.6 firmware installed in minutes.
