It is too stressful that everything has to be right. Buying a home is stressful, no matter new or old, there will be a lot things different from your old house and you are not comfortable. To renovate or remodel after live-in is difficult.
I've been looking into the Sequim and Port Angeles area. I currently live in Gold Beach, OR with my Grandmother. I've been looking for a place with a similar climate, but less rainfall. I'm a long haul trucker, so I'm away from home most of the year. So when I take hometime, it's an annoyance when I wanna go for walks or just get outdoors, and it's raining non stop the entire week I'm home sometimes.. I don't mind rain, but when you get too much it can be inconvenient, in more ways than just recreation. I'm only 30, so a long ways off from retirement. But I prefer rural areas away from big cities. I'm not concerned with job opportunities due to my current career field, I can live wherever I want so long as I have space to park my rig somewhere. I've been looking at land more so than houses, because I'm always reading up on the latest tech and innovations. I got really interested in monolithic (concrete) dome homes after doing some research on them. Even more so due to the pandemic and soaring lumber prices. But more so due to the highly energy efficient design, which would allow me to take more advantage of the mild climate. I've still got a lot of research to do, it's never ending really lol. I just felt like spewing out some of my thoughts I've had bottled up. I kinda came across the Sequim area by chance just looking at wide spread state wide listings, and thought this looks like a really nice area! It's got mountains, some nice agricultural areas, and sea front. It's got everything I want geographically, and my ideal climate too. I'm glad I stumbled upon your channel not too long ago, it has been very informative.
