What so many people are missing is that this kinda helps DJs be producers in real time. Whereas a DJ producer obviously has to produce the remixes and mashups and edits in studio and then performs them later live. This gives a DJ that ability live. But yea, still use your ears. Still read the crowd.
This is so much fun. I was playing with 2 copies of techno song combining stems with loops, fx and reverse to make crazy shit. I honestly think this is the future of mixing. I now need a serato version of traktor kontrol F1 remix decks so I can mix individual stems. Unreal from Serato! ❤
Been DJn video mixes with Stems. Its actually pretty Good. Have posted up mixes etc for people to hear and see. also done a whole mix on rumble. Done this all to really explore the sound. I will say Serato's Stems algorithm is definitely better than the other dj softwares I believe to date.
Blessed good night Serato Dj family, thank you so much, I love the stems, thumbs up on the loop role replacement. As a Dj, I don't use loop role. Thank you again, blessed guidance
I see a couple people asking about recommend computer Specifications so here they are System Requirements Recommended tier: (Using Serato DJs default settings) PC Processor: 6th generation dual-core Intel i5 or AMD Ryzen 5 3000 series AVX required Memory: 8GB or higher Storage: 15GBs or more of spare local disk space (SSD) Video memory: Dedicated 512MB - (1GB or higher suggested for Serato Video) OS: Windows 10, 11 Mac Year: 2017 or later Processor: Dual Core Intel i5 Macbook Pro or Apple Silicon (M1) Memory: 8GB or higher Storage: 15GBs or more of spare local disk space (SSD) Video memory: N/A OS: macOS 10.15, 11 or 12 Power User tier: (Using high-performance settings) PC Processor: 8th generation i9 or AMD Ryzen 7 5000 series AVX required Memory: 16GB or higher Storage: 15GBs or more of SSD spare local disk space Video memory: Dedicated, 2GB or higher OS: Windows 10, 11 Mac Year: 2018 or later Processor: Intel i9 or Apple Silicon (M1) Memory: 16GB or higher Storage: 15GBs or more of SSD spare local disk space Video memory: 14 core GPU or higher OS: macOS 10.15, 11 or 12
Can you export a stem (eg the acapella) on its own as a wav or mp3 file? I assume you’d be able to hit Record and record the Master output; but I mean, is there a way to directly export it without having to play the track for its entire duration and record the Master Out channel?
Could you suggest for Tidal, Soundcloud and Beatsource, to start making STEMS files available directly from the source. It would save a lot of CPU processing.
@@thatchinaboi1 Exactly. Enable Serato Studio so it can compile and export the separate tracks into a Serato-Stems file. I'm sure that with an update in Serato Studio that can do this, they would be able to boost their sales once and for all.
the waveforms on 3.0 beta are "stuttering" (on my late 2016 i7 touchbar MacBook Pro) even on offline mode!! It looks like it's really struggling... PLEASE tell us that you will fix this in the 3.0 official release and make the app "take it easier" on the Macs!!! (We're not going to have to buy new m1/m2 macbooks so that we can use 3.0, are we?)
you say minimum specs is a 2017 macbook pro with min i5 processor. I have a late 2016 i7 touchbar MacBook Pro (the touchbar models with the i7 processor came out in late 2016 not 2017). So is my computer NOT ok for 3.0?? If it is, then you need to change the "2017" min spec to "late 2016". Please confirm!!
My i7 worked fine with stems but then started glitch and drop everything. I know this is a beta but I've had problems with Serato doing this in normal sets, before stems and 3.0. some people say this is due to Ram or ROM requirements not being met but I've worked with djs using the best PC's on the market and still having the same issues! Does Serato know about this and do you think they will fix it?
Hi there. It won't work with the Numark NS7II, sorry! The last version of Serato DJ Pro that supports the NS7II is v2.3.1, which you can download from here: serato.com/dj/hardware/numark-ns7-ii
If anyone can help,, I just installed Serato DJ Pro 3.0 Beta version on a new MacBook Pro OS Monterey and I have no access to the stems (Vocal, Melody , Bass and Drums separation) I can only mute the microphone icon and that’s it. Is that because I need to pay for monthly services??
Hey, yes, you will need a Serato DJ Pro license in order to use the 3.0 Beta. If you do have one and it's not working, please head to the Beta area of our forums here for assistance: serato.com/forum/area/743
I’m having issues when I’m playing videos. The videos slows down and it likes freezing all the time I have a Asus rog501g is there anything I can do so it stops doing that ?
Serato DJ Pro needs to bring out an update for the reloop rp-8000 MK2 turntable they need to update the turntable to mapping & scratch Bank & stems this would be an absolute game-changer if they did this and if they brought this update out let's see how many people agree with me true or false.....
Are there any plans to make Serato for Android & ios tablets? These tablets are becoming just as powerful as some of the laptops that are out. The Samsung Galaxy Tabs are strong & powerful devices.
This is true. Though I would remind people that because live stem separation isnt gonna be as clean as like Izotope power new file creation software... so with that. Using EQ in conjunction with stem mixing actually smooths out any of the quality losses you may hear with quick stem separation. If a stem acap still has a lot of bleeding. Cutting the highs or adjusting the filter knob can do a lot to clean it up. 😉
tried the beta version3.0 but the analyzing is just too bad to use, it almost never analyzes the track right, the grig is rarely at the right place....im new to serato trying to switch from RB but i hope they will fix this problem..regards
I prefer the set up here to algoriddim But ok don't like the cpu drain I am running a 2018 MacBook pro Not new but not ancient And serato crashed after one hour set I even adjusted the analysis function to on the fly That being said I like the echo in and out
@theKutcorners -Will the stems feature work with Flip? In other words can you pre-make a flip that kills the bass on the hook or switches to acapella on verse 2? If so, this will make dj edits a thing of the past!
@@mattp3 a strong suggestion for the product development team then... It would especially be a gamechanger for DJs using streaming services as their library.
Love all this!! but I have a question/suggestion (I hope I haven't missed) Because of huge file space taken up. Is it possible to have your main music files on your local HD on either your MAC or PC, and have an external HD (SSD) to store all stems. Then when you know you want to use stems as a tool/feature you just connect the external HD and and away you go. So I guess the system would have to load from 2x sources when using stems ....but would that be a huge issue??
@@Kutcorners I hear you, and probably the simpler way to do it . But I was thinking about as time goes on and your library gets bigger , you would normally back up your laptop and with the intro of larger stem files , it would be nice to just have a separate drive for those. So maybe an option to choose a location for where to save them etc. just don’t know how software complex it might be to draw from two separate locations when playing a file/song . I’m lucky I have an M1 MacBook so I reckon I have the computing power , but might be an issue for older machines . Anyway….. just my 2 cents worth of a possibility.
If your controller is not compatible ( Roland dj808)... Can you use serato 3.0 with a midi controller and the dj808 unit by assigning those pads to something like the akai mpd? Or does incompatible means that the update will not work at all?
@@HOLIDAYCREWSTUDIOS thanks but I've got that tech already and everything else, I'd prefer to have this tech in the one app like Serato DJ Pro so then I can keep stemmed versions of existing tracks within the library and keep everything better organized........
@@Kutcorners awesome, thanks very much for your reply mate, all I need to figure out now is why I can't see the STEMS option in offline mode with no hardware attached, the STEMS crate is there but none of the other features show up for doing anything meaningful multi-track wise, very confusing cause the release notes say can be used in 'offline mode' so I naturally assumed this means no hardware controller attached, any ideas?...............
The Traktor stems are separated by the user inside the files themselves, not by Traktor. In other words, Traktor unfortunately doesn't have this feature yet.
