He's a done a very commendable job in many respects, the overall quality of play, team spirit and indeed even the very atmosphere around the institution of the England national team has improved greatly during his tenure. By definition, he is not 'useless'. Also, very important to note that throughout the majority of his tenure thus far, there existed no better managerial options that could have been realistically coaxed, into taking the job in his stead and thus we should be glad, that he continued on in the role still.
