In the Carpathians (the mountainous area in the far western part of Ukraine where Alina was born), a unique cry is traditionally used to call each other in the mountains. In this case, each person chooses a sound that identifies them. That scream at the beginning Alina came up with for herself.
Maaan, I watched like 50 reactions to this song of English-speaking RU-vids: you are the one who gotten to the depth of depth of meaning the most! Awesome, sincere and well analyzed feedback Big hugs to you!
I LOVE IT ❤❤ So glad she won! ❤ LOVE the traditional instruments, native language and other ethnic elements, the dark epic performance, the deep lyrics, the emotions that she gave us... everything ❤ My Slavic heart melts, greetings from Czech Republic! ❤
💯Alina performed the most heartfelt and meaningful song I’ve heard this year. Such passion in her voice and impactful lyrics - you can’t help but feel her connection to the ancestors of Ukraine and the powerful message delivered on stage. 💛💙
@@evolv.e Exactly! 😢💔 I was completelly devastated when I found out that she won't be allowed to go to Eurovision - she would have been my winner so far and among my favourite Eurovision songs of all time 😢😢💔💔 It still hurts a lot 😢💔
This is a song of peace. We all want peace in our countries ❤ Thank you for your reaction. You found the right words to describe what millions of Ukrainians have inside while listening to it.
🤗 Good luck to all from Serbia, I hope that conflict between Russia and Ukraine will stop soon. We are all Slavs, let's spread peace and love each other. ✌️🕊️ 💕 Love you all. 💗🤗
Thank you a lot for your great reaction for our Ukrainian song!!! This is really a song of peace!!! Because Ukrainian people never want to have the war...we just want to live our simple and peaceful life...We sing, dance, create art, follow our traditions...maybe not everything is perfect, but we want to write our own history....Greetings from Ukraine!!!💛💙
wow, I am so amazed by your discernment and empathy! you literally were able to feel the call to your roots and soul itself, which this song does extremely well, but still many reaction-bloggers don't get it, even if they like the song love it! thanks for your video and love from Ukraine 💛💙
Actual song. Ancient Ukraine gave rise to the most powerful state in Eastern Europe - Kievan Rus (not to be confused with Russia), gave rise to many dynasties of the kings of Europe. But it was captured and divided among other empires of the Middle Ages and lost its independence. And now we are in Ukraine like in a song "We write our history and remember our ancestors"
There is a folk song called "It`s around 300 years cossack is in a captivity" (А вже років 300, як козак в неволі). In that song, he is going near the river asking destiny to come to him out from the water and she refuses. So I think Alina Pash made a reference to this song in the sentence "Come out from the water, destiny, destiny". P.S. Your reactions make me smile. Please, keep doing it) Hugs from Ukraine))
I've been checking this channel since Saturday 😂 Thanks!) Finally 🙌 I even checked your insta😂(just was looking for an announcement 😂) Ukraine loves your reaction ✨
The song and movie /book are not connected. The song is not only about Ukraine, it's about humanity, a call to remember own culture and not turn into a faceless mediocre product of globalization. Every famous name mentioned in the "rapping" part brings its own deep message. "One for all and all for one" by Dumas is a very timely call for national unity in face of the threat of ruSSia's full-scale war, as well as the need for Picasso's peace dove. The reference to Dante, who wrote "Divine comedy" about the afterlife soul's journey but nowadays could be writing "Divine tragedy", refers to the current imminent danger of sending humankind to the afterlife. Shakespeare is the master of drama bringing up existential questions including the most famous one "To be or not to be". And Alina's call is "To Be!" and to write our OWN history, remembering ancestors, history, and culture, and to leave our own legacy after ourselves, beautiful like fairytales by Grimm brothers. Very clever lines which should speak to all of Europe, but, unfortunately, could be missed by some people. And the sounds at the beginning and the end are bird calls, uniting with Nature, the land. And I love the beautiful message in the visuals of her eyes: it zooms in and in the depth of each eye another eye keeps appearing like eyes of generations of ancestors. We are onions with layers created by ancestors, direct of spiritual, coming from different cultures.
Finally waited for your reaction to this song!:) And it's nice to hear such a good reaction!:) The song is not related to the film, although for Ukrainians the association arises immediately. Harvard University has added the film "Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors" to the list of must-see students applying for a higher degree in film studies. So I highly recommend watching, this is an incredible movie.
Gpuppa Kalush took 2 sesto and cannot accept living. Kalush and his fanatics are trying in every possible way to humiliate Alina Pash, DO NOT BELIEVE THEM. they are sick people
