Orthodox Study Bible published by Thomas Nelson in 1993 is NOT an official text of the Eastern Orthodox Church.it is just one of many books. Serbs converted to Christianity in the 7th century. And Orthodoxy is a term from 1054. Only a very sick man thinks he has the right to insult 300 million Orthodox believers. For Serbs, the only authority in theology is the Serbian Orthodox Church. This is not entirely true. Only the wedding in church (in front of God) lasted for 2 hours. The whole event of wedding used to last up to 7 days, with bunch of traditional customs, ceremonies and more..

I’ve been listening this video almost daily for the last couple months, it’s absolutely Devine!!! There are 2 albums with that name(I searched it previously as I saw the name mentioned in other replies under this video), but that chant I couldn’t find it on those albums. I guess I’ll never find it… even though I don’t understand Serbian, it must be one of God’s favourite languages, as it sounds angelic… exceptionally beautiful♥️

Thank you for the upload... it is very interesting. I like orthodox chants, usually... but I must say, I find this rather soporific... even at 1.25 speed, it is still very very longwinded/drawn out and rather monotonous. I have listened to over 2 hours of it, and I cannot tell if the chant has changed from one to the other. They all sound rather the same. Sorry to say, Serbian is NOT my fav of the orthodox chant I have listened to, to date, and I have been listening for decades. I like russian, greek, gregorian, bulgarian... I love armenian and arabic...etc.. I hate it in english, and now I found another I do not care for... I won't say I hate it, like I do the english versions, but this is just too boring and flat and sleep inducing. But thank you again for posting, otherwise, I may not have experienced this.

@@angry_potat0_0 Hi there, Александр Палей , Thank you for the recommendations… I can’t say I liked the znamenny chant… as it was not of a high quality… and I have heard other ones and not my favourite ‘flavour’ of chantsong, though I do like quite a few of the Valaam monastery… are those considered znamenny…?? I don’t know much about znamenny and had to look it up… it seems it is a variation of Russian orthodox chant, am I correct? It seems to use a lot of higher pitched voices, ie: children and female voices which I do not care for, at least in chantsong… I did like the second choice, which you said was Greek… and I think you are correct from a few words I understood but it was very very slow and drawn out so could not tell for sure and could not read the description etc as it is in Cyrillic type script and I was too lazy to translate it… hahahha… I am assuming it is an easter lament/dirge which accounts for the somberness and slowness of the piece… I enjoyed it… Thank you again…Peace.
