Gotta love some Nina Simone.
I feel like a show as deep and powerful and this needs powerful music to go along with it. This just seems like the kind of song that Serena would definitely have listened to before Gilead and a record that Fred wouldn’t have kept.
She’s a fascinating character, she does really, deeply terrible things and still believes she’s good. I loved reading about her when we studied the book in school and having the show means I can analyse her without writing essays now.
