I don't know if it's only me, but I find this camera frame a bit odd. Like only seeing Serena as she hits balls, but completely missing the bigger picture of the practice; the hitting partner, where the balls actually go etc. Idk, just would find it more interesting to see whats actually going on.
I don't think it's only you. But personally I like to see the techniques and the movements of the players close up so I love close and low camera angles. Where the balls actually land I don't care.
I love love love serena but...winning easy match ups seem so hard for her these days. Idk if its patrick or her. Serena needs to do major cardio and speed training and get back into her 2016-2017 shape if possible. I know having a baby puts a toll on ur body but its what she has to do if she wants another slam.

It's a great partnership. At this stage of her career I think Serena values stability and building on what they have, not starting a new thing from scratch all over again. And I think she seems as motivated as ever.
Guys her serve was ONNNNN and she was moving! It’s just her second serve was as powerful as normal so that’s where the girls were striking at her! She needs to hammer those second serves ! She was moving pretty well and those long matches will only help her legs get use again
Serena is well past her prime. I'll be very surprised if she makes it to the quarterfinals. #24 is not going to happen. I'm a fan but I've got to call it like I see it.

How do you teach someone who's a pro and has 23 grand slames... She clearly knows what to do and what it takes(memory). At this points it's physical training and bringing back dormant techniques.
Yes you are right on that one. However she is not as physically strong as before. I think in order for her to win another grandslam she should work on her fitness and mental fortitude. You see alot of the players are fit and mentally prepared to compete. Serena is probably overwhelmed because she is taking care of her daughter and that takes a lot of time energy physically and mentally. Last of all she is also tired being on the circuit. I think fitness and mental toughness will play a big role in her performance.

She was practicing in another coloured shoe as well a light pink and blue so I'm assuming she'll have two different coloured outfits, one for day play and one for night play.
Ricc Lee Hmm... thinking something with a combination of the red colour in minor. I don’t see her wearing all black like she wore all red for the day. There could be a different colour pair of Nikes for the evening match, which might not have black. What say you? 🤔
As a fan I actually dont care whether she wins another slam, I hope so, but she has nothing to prove anymore. I always have and will enjoy to seeing her play and is still a threat to todays topplayers.

She's looking heavy. Maybe 7 matches instead of 8 will help her, but her opponents are hungry and looking very fit. I fear winning this year is a big ask even for her.
Move you feet Serena and anticipate or expect to run. You must have a good direction at times where the ball gonna go and line up for it. Sometimes you hit the ball you dont quick to make the next move to get the ball.
Still don’t understand why Patrick not wearing a mask when he talks or chats with Serena in close proximity. You can talk THROUGH a mask. Protect the QUEEN at ALL COST.

Serena Williams is a great athlete. But as the years pass her energy is getting more and more down naturally. She is a great fighter though. I wish she wins forever. But impossible unfortunately.
I love Serena. She is reminding me of what I would rather do than eat.😀So, I will be backyard picnicing with my grandkids who are always up for physical activity. Taking about 30 ball cans and extra rackets. Covid-19 won't get us down. I Have not played ALL summer!!!
Whew. I guess the first 40 minutes was just warming up. Scared me. Because she looked like she DID NOT want to be bothered. Then she started getting into it.
Once again, lack of movement and fitness. Also, Patrick not moving her around. Of course she can hit the ball when it’s in front of her😒🤦🏾♂️. Her problem is her lateral movement to the ball. For example, when her hitting partner hit the ball down the tee then hit the ball to the left side, she lost her footing. She also is not creating the little steps to get ready for the ball. I remember this being an issue for her back in her early days. The commentators would say during her matches that her feet were flat, not creating the little steps, not ready for the ball. Venus has started doing this now but back in the day, had excellent footwork. Serena looks very disinterested and unfocused. This will definitely be a rollercoaster but when is it not for Serena.

I will mind that about Sloan cause she is still young but Serena is high 30's, a mom too so she has her hands full. Her body is different( he who feels it, knows it), it's her body not mine.
I don't have to tell her anything, she's a career player. 70 something single titles, 23 majors, so many doubles, mixed doubles titles, gold medals. Who am i to tell her anything? Maybe you achieved more than her in TENNIS, you tell her. I know my place, i can't criticize her if i am no better.
Serena now is not as srong and fast as she was in 2012. She has lost to two young opponents in the final matches in this grand slam two years consecutively

Serena Williams has set the high standard of power, movement, serve, and precise ball placement for years. And the ladies coming through now have all looked up to her. Many have even met her, and some have even surpassed her. She needs to go into that extra gear she says she has, but she's not in that great of shape to do so. She needs to reevaluate and reinvent herself, but she surely needs to lose some weight. Maybe 10-15 lbs.
She looks really unmotivated here and lazy. She’s not lazy of course but physically she’s finished. Age has caught up with her and she’s more interested in being a mom, as she should be. This is an awful practice session. She’s going 3 sets against nobodies and losing. Time to retire. Even the greatest of all time has to face the end.
From 1999-2013 I remember she had much better timing on her forehand with a loopy take back. Since 2013 idk what Patrick did but her forehand take back is so much more abbreviated and it messed with her timing. Her peak forehand was 2012 Wimbledon/Olympics/US Open. She crushed it everytime

Lol she’s very Motivated . But she’s one of those players that has the warm up with playing, secondly she has been struggling with her health to which was caused my careless ass doctors. She even stated she still had lung issues. And she didn’t rush her body back to form.. she let whatever happen, happen.

I think Serena is mentally and physically tired. She should focus on fitness and foot work. She used to be so fit and so tough mentally and physically. I think she is worn out. I think she should try to win 2 more grandslams and retire for good. I think she can beat Margaret Courts record.

I believe most of the problem is Serena. She has too much foot problems, from she is playing tennis until now she dont move her feet well like the other players, even junior plays move well. She needs also to stop send the ball back to the player, like straight down the middle all the times to the opponent, even when the opponent left one big side of the court open serena send the ball right back to her she dont try to take the ball from their reach. She needs to mix it up on the court find angles in the corner of the court and pick her spot, not just hitting the ball and it drop anywhere and just by hoping it drop in. Those players coming for her and they train damn well how to hit the balls in the corner of the court, that which serena fear to do, and they let her run off the court running down the ball all the times for they are not playing when they played with her, they are fighting for every point so they not sending the ball to her racket like she do to them. A next thing, why when she goes to the net she had to hit the ball up the base of the line when she could just hit the ball slant of the net, she could do that and not panic, all she has to do is to focus and not let the ball go in the net and focus to let it drop in. So she definitely need some more angles on the ball in the court. She has to prepare to tmrun and fight.She need to watch videos how the top men play tennis and some of her matches she played in 2005/2007. All the best fight for this one younger players are coming after you.
