I don’t know what’s up with some of these comments but this was a great match from both players. Sure the score line doesn’t look too close, but both sets were tightly contested and had momentum swings. The final game was especially tight, only margins stopped Venus from winning that second set. If you’ve ever played competitive level tennis, you’d realize just how close some of those misses were and must have felt.
It was an ok-ish match to me. Lots of winners but lots of errors too. It also doesn't have a lot of long rallies and intensity that an A grade match would produce. I will give this match a B.
@@mrrogers302 They have plenty of matches with long rallies. Wimbledon 08, US Open 08 is one of them. This is an ok-ish match. It wasn't great. I wasn't expecting anything. I am just saying it wasn't great. Lol.
I miss Serena on the tour so much. It’s really SOOOO BORING without her, but thank God we have RU-vid because I’ve been binge watching like crazy! #GOAT #OpenEraQueen #Serenaspregnantwithanothergirl 👶🏽🎾🏸👶🏽
Back in the 2000's, Venus used to be one of the best returners of Serena's serve, either by hitting an aggressive return or at least getting the ball back in the play to start a rally. Now obviously Venus is less athletic, less agile and her reaction times aren't as quick which makes her unable to read the serve as well.
@@marfu1119 it's unfortunate Venus was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease which causes her fatigue and joint pain - this has affected her performance.
I stopped following Serena’s progress on surpassing Graf’s 22-grand slam record after she lost at the French in 2016, thinking she wasn’t going to get past her own record of 21. So it’s incredible that she actually did it and maybe it’s fitting that she played her sister to get to that milestone.
Watching this agen after realising their legacy is over... that the years of tennis you watched you can never watch agen for the first time... is deeply saddening! I watch this with tears in my eyes... i love these 2 so much... especially Venus! X x
The single biggest difference in Serena game compare Venus and other players on the women tour is her serve. Her serve is the reason she beat Venus so many times
@@RameshKumar-ud5uk For someone who gets so salty and rude when serena wins and called her 'gorillarena', you sure watch a lot of videos of serena winning.
Na id say she has some of the Sharapova syndrome where she doesn’t believe she can beat Serena when it comes to slams at least for Venus. She’s been pressing against Serena in majors since the 08 US Open quarters where she had set points in both sets yet lost in straight sets. She had a real chance of tying Serena with 8 slams that major and has been choking big slam matches away ever since.
@@AFCompany I wouldnt say its a mental issue like Maria because back in 2002 at French Open for example Venus didnt play that match the way she could have done if it was anyone other than Serena, same at Wimbledon and Us open that year...At the same its "normal" when she thinks its her lil sister but the thing is that she never could consider Serena as an opponant like she did with Capriati or Lindsay. Thats what I think, I may be wrong
This was the first time that serena trying to lose to venus in a grand slam final, but either venus was also trying to lose or she just play too bad, serena ended up won anyway. Us open 2001, and Wimbledon 2003,2008,2009 were the finals where they both trying to win
I just have to say that IF I had a brother who I had the honor of playing in the AO final and who'd never won the AO before and I already had 6 or 7 in the bag I would've let him win this one. I'm just saying.
@@KnowTrentTimoy I wouldn’t let my sibling win. Because then deep down you know they didn’t earn it. They would rather u earn it than them win and not earn it
@@nickowens8345 Being on the tour and winning 7 grand slams already, a 5-time Wimbledon champion and this being the 2nd time in the AO final (against her sister) I would've said to myself, you know what, I love my sister and respect her very much, I've got 7 of these great championships already and she has zero AO championships, so, and I'm gonna let this one go and leave it at that and understand in my heart that I wanted to do this. It's a no-brainer for me.
