Classical guitarist Amy Brucksch celebrates the guitar's rich heritage, exploring musical connections with musicians as diverse as Celtic fiddlers, Baroque harpsichordists, African percussionists, and Western North Carolina's first ever melodica band, One Road Over. She made a highly regarded CD, Luminescence, with flutist Kate Steinbeck, and is a core member of Pan Harmonica, a chamber music collective based in Asheville. She has performed locally in the Belmont Abbey Concert Series, at Brevard College, in the Woffard College Troubadour Series, and at Anderson University. She is passionate about sharing her love for the classical guitar and currently teaches over 70 middle and high school students at Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy. Her music degrees are from University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music and Bowling Green State University. Amy lives in Tryon and plays a guitar custom made for her by California luthier, Gregory Byers.
Cellist Sharon Mulfinger Gerber began studying cello at age nine with her father. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Cello Performance from Bob Jones University and continued her studies in Berlin, Germany where she received a Master's Degree in Cello Performance from the Hochschule f"ur Music Hanns Eisler. She has studied, performed, and taught in music festivals in Ecuador, France, England, Germany, Canada, Mexico, and the U.S. In addition to performing, Sharon is an accomplished writer, arranger, and sound producer and has produced four CDs featuring her own compositions and regularly produces music for films and dramatic productions. She plays a cello she inherited from her father and lives in Greenville with her three daughters and 12 chickens.
Violinist Joanna Mulfinger graduated from Bob Jones University and then received her Masters Degree from the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, studying with the renowned Russian pedagogue Victor Danchenko. She appreciates learning about all styles of music, and in 2017 as a result of her interest in Baroque violin playing, started a Baroque String Ensemble at Anderson University which she led for four years. Professionally, she has performed with Baroque ensembles such as The Sebastians and Early Music New York. She is currently working with a group of local musicians to start Gloria Baroque, a professional Baroque ensemble based in Greenville. She is Concertmaster of the Spartanburg Philharmonic and Principal Second Violin of the Greenville Symphony and plays a violin made in 1653, a violin she inherited from her mother.
