I have seen most of the celebrated ballerinos, including Nureyev, Baryshnikov and more recently Carlos Acosta and I celebrate their unique talents, but Sergei is the greatest of his generation and has such charisma. I am do glad I have the chance to see him dance in person. We who love dance are blessed to have this amazing talent to lift our spirits.
This is COOL ASS video that truly portrays Sergei as he describes himself. What a work of art! He exudes power and sheer delicacy simultaneously. I am happy he has regained his drive and desire..I'm a recent fan and am truly blown away. He has that rare perfection with an edge....very enchanting...
Please Sergei, dance the Bohemian Rapsody. I think you are going to make us fell what this song represent. Technique + feeling + madness + pain+ perfection. Thank you.
I don’t know how I ended up watching this video. Kind of a random thing, but Sergei’s video had me absolutely transfixed. I’ve never seen anyone dance so beautifully. Perfection. And, the video itself... superb!
In my opinion, Sergei comes to perfection as close as anyone can get. Absolutely stunning! Just beautiful and gorgeous to look at. I could watch him all day long. 😍I personally don’t like the cage and box thing and the many cuts. But that’s just me. There is nothing wrong with it. I feel, he is so unbelievably special that he doesn’t need the effects. David LaChapell said when they made the Holzer video that they want to show Sergei’s incredible skill and art and that they don’t want to do a music video. This here is like a music video. I can appreciate that a lot of people like it and I think it’s good that he tries different things bc it makes him interesting and likable to a wider audience. And he doesn’t get stuck in a certain role which he , as it sounds , didn’t like when he was dancing classical ballets only. Takes my breath away! 😍😍😍also like the black and white!
Absolutely stunning! Being of a B & W mode myself, I find that style of film concentrates the viewer’s eye on the dance itself. Being an older alternative person, I love the music & the cage motif! This short film captures Polunin’s difficult journey in a few minutes of brilliant editing & filming, & Im very grateful to find it. He truly is the best male ballet dancer to come along in my (almost 60 years of) life, & it’s such a wonder to watch him dance. I feel a girl again, hoping beyond hope to be a ballerina, but knowing it could never happen. No matter..... the heart stops as he soars, the breath halts at his magnificent batteau, height, extension..... Im always breathless by the time the vid is over. & very happy to be so. Thank you!
