WOnderful,brilliant, great talent, she lives, becomes the music. I fell in love with her the first time I saw her playing the so lovely Mendelssohn piano concerto no.1.she was only 10. And also all elegance, class, lovely cream color dress that a little girl would wear at that age, in first part 19th.C to match with Mendelssohn. And all the affection she received afterwards from her parents, teacher and the audience.

Bravo Alexandra! Greetings from HK, me and my daughter loves your playing.

I just watched her playing an offering progressively through the last three years, and every year she improves SO MUCH. I am not a pianist, and as such am not qualified to judge her technically much beyond the level she already is as compared to what she will be 20 years from now, stand alone, anyway. Were I to hear this same piece played by her in say, 2030, I would probably easily be able to tell the difference, but I think it would be more musicality wise (if that makes any sense) than technically. Much below this level I can usually discern fairly well. Having said that, there are good pianists, amazing pianists, world class pianists, and pinnacle pianists. To my ear, she is definitely the latter, for her age. I look forward to seeing and moreso hearing how she grows, and where she takes this amazing talent. What I really enjoy in the stellar level pianists is their interpretations of pieces. One I very much like is Lola Astinova's Gershwin Rhapsody with the All Star Orchestra. It is unique, fresh, inviting, interesting, and moving, to my ear. THAT is music. I look forward to hearing what THIS young lady will continue to "bring to the table". I've also figured out to a much greater degree lately that Rachmaninoff is SUPERB music. In the last month I've heard three pieces I hadn't before and thought, man that is GREAT stuff that were his, and that was a significant portion of the total I reacted to that way. Keep it up, young lady, (obviously, you don't need to hear that from me) but I mean that from the standpoint that listening to the beauty you impart musically lifts my soul. Soldier on, continue to LOVE it, as you obviously do, and the sky is the limit (or maybe not, just remember to bring oxygen). ;-)

The world needs a new suit of armour because this girl is still not even 16!! That was a truly spectacular performance delivered with a consumate mature professionalism. I've been learning/playing this piece for the past five years and until now I was previously oblivious to the subtle and varied temporal spacings between the lower octaves from bar 52 to 63 and here Miss Dovgan highlights Rachmaninoff's detailed requirements but without over dramatisation or bombast. I hope I can get to see Miss Dovgan perform at some point in the not too distant future.

Anyone else noticed a problem with the video quality? The audio channel is OK, but the video looks like many frames are missing here and there, it lacks the usual "fluidity"... It does not change in the YT player or saving the video locally and then playing back the saved file...

For years, I used to marvel at Van Cliburn’s rendition of this prelude but Sasha takes it to another level. Amazing is not the word - she must have been 12 or 13 when she performed this - I hope to watch her live one day before I die!
