If this were today's current vocalists, they would be screaming at the top of their lungs, doing all sorts of vocal gymnastics and "runs" for their ego's sakes. Singers today could take a lesson from these ladies. Simply beautiful.
I didn't know that this was a Beatles' song for years....While the Beatlrs' version is great, this version will always be the definitive version for me.......
@jwolfe3232 I get your point about versions. This is nothing like elevator music. Elevator music did not include brilliant arrangements and unique, superior harmonies like Brazil 66. Go to the original recordings. Elevator music was like torture to listen to. Peach Radio in Atlanta used to play it n the 70's. It was horrible. Brazil 66 is very listenable. They covered the Beatles very well. Check out Stevie Wonder's cover of We Can Work It Out.
I really like the Brazil 66 version but I don't like this live version as much as the recorded version. The drums and overall music beat do not come through as well as on the recorded version. Just my 2 cents worth.
just BEAUTIFUL MUSIC brings back some great memories of being young and WILD I PLAY THESE GUYS ALL THE TIME WHEN I FEEL OLD and then it makes it allright again ,man i love life .THANK YOU SERGIO
@leahcimber, you are right Lani Hall was the Brasil '66 lead singer; but when this video was recorded she didn't belong to the Brasil '66 group anymore. The other singer you are seing here is Gracinha Leporace, Sergio Mendes' wife.
Doesn't it beg the question, so many of us were between 8 and 10 when we first heard theses tunes, why? Is it because 'music' was not defined by age but by what you listened to. I think that is the reason why so many of us who grew up in the 60's onwards have such a wide range of musical tastes and continue to listen to popular music with a discerning ear. I too am 51nils, I tell my children the only reason they recognise a song is because they heard 'em in the cradle. Or am I old!
