Agreed. I remember when me and my friends were all hype about this show, as if we had discovered a hidden gem. I think this anime will follow me for life. Peace, Lain is a goddes.
I personally like the translation of this song that calls it a signal of solitude or a cry to fade rather than distant cry even if that fits as well. Signal of solitude probably better represents lain as a person as she starts off pretty closed off and even with connecting herself to the internet in the most literal meaning still people don't understand her besides Alice and maybe her father. Then again I'm looking too far Into the meaning of a outro songs name.

The only place I can find this picture is some russian website by a user named spichko. It didn't work for this one but for future reference I usually search via saucenao, it has links to any relevant gelbooru/pixiv/twitter/etc. pages usually but this one was only on some site called reactor (that I could tell).
