I was a Sergeant at the Clements Unit where he was housed in back in mid 2000’s- early 2010’s. He slowly got around with a cane and was nice to everyone. He was minimium custody and lived in the dorms. But the creepy thing is, he had tons of eye drawings in his cubicle. Whenever we would do shakedowns, we would find hundreds of eyeball drawings. He was obsessed with them. 👀

I was a Captain at Clements unit in 1992. I had his cell searched for contraband. He apparently was fixated on eyeballs because the staff brought me handfuls of eyeball drawings he did. I talked to him several times. He was highly intelligent and articulate. Although I don’t think he was convicted of the murders there is no doubt in my mind he did it.

The amount of people that think mannequins are just lying around outside in random places, amazes me.

You mentioned FBI Profiler Judd Ray. Little known facts about him: He was portrayed in the show “Mindhunter”. He was the black guy that Tench wanted to recruit. Also, he was almost killed by the hitman is wife hired. Crazy.

I was a CO back in 99/00 at the Clements Unit, Amarillo TX, where he was at. He once told me I had beautiful eyes, when he was being brought back up to his cell as I finished shaking down his cell. I didn’t know who he was back then, but I knew he had something for eyes, because I had to pull all of the contraband magazine/picture clipped eyeballs off his walls. No full face pictures, just the eyeballs themselves. It wasn’t until after I left the unit that I watched his story on TV and learned who he was, and what exactly he meant about my eyes. 😳

The music video at the end is so entertaining. I find myself watching it all the way to the end of each video and I've seen nearly all of them. The Manson faces and the Convertible ride with the psychos gets me every time

I stumbled across some of the crime scene photographs of the Albright murders this weekend and realized I'd never dug into the case at all. Perfect coincidence!

His obsession with eyes needs to be -looked into- explored further.

It was excellent work by the police to not ignore the murders of prostitutes for a change and relatively quickly solve a very difficult case.

Yeah I don't understand why people always see a mannequin? How often is a mannequin really found? I've never found one just randomly laying around? I would automatically think it's a body. Because I've never found a mannequin. Maybe, psychologically people are hoping that's what it is? But all the stories about people automatically assuming it was a mannequin is so strange to me.

I remember every time your theme music plays when I learned "pop goes the weasel" on the violin from dad. I was like 5 years old. I'd do the "pop" at first. And slowly picked up the rest. I can't remember how to play it exactly anymore as I got more into guitar. But I look forward to always hearing it! And it works.

This is more an issue with the fact that he was adopted by an emotionally impotent family not that he played with dolls. my brother was extremely attached to one of my baby dolls when he was little, drug it around everywhere, and he’s never done this! Seeing playing with toys that aren’t “gender typical” as a problem, is problem society. As far as “dressing a child in girls clothes, I wonder if it was just the fashion. Boys clothes, by today’s standards, seem very “girly”, when in reality, they were gender neutral for the time. I’ve seen baby pictures of my father in law(born in the 1930’s), and it was a different time.

Criminal Minds also had an episode inspired by this man. But in contrast to Albright, the killer in the show, who was a professional taxidermist, was completely off the rails and not charismatic/able to blend in at all.

It feels like the decades past weren't just a golden age for serial killers, but also for lots of prostitutes! Maybe I just live in the wrong places, but I never see prostitutes everywhere the way it sounds like they are in these podcasts. Is it the internet that's "hidden" this aspect of life or did women suddenly stop selling themselves at such a high rate?

The story of him cutting the woman’s blouse off with a knife, then reaching for a different knife in his kit to make a different cut makes me wonder if he had some weird technique or ritual from learning how to taxidermy.
