This is awful! There was a story about a guy who got a legal lease for his deceased mother’s house, waited for the squatters to leave, moved their stuff out, and became the squatter himself.
I don't have sympathy with rich whining folks. Karma is coming around. They are wondering why this is happening to them. Well it's for stepping on the little folk while they were climbing that social ladder.
Not when someone is stealing a person’s identity…. The background check would be correct and now it’s up to the OWNER of the home to verify that the background check matches the actual person moving in.
I remember being a little girl in the 80s with a single mom and a dad that refused to hep. We got evicted and came home to find all our stuff ok the streets. What happened to those days? Why is this Ok now? I know it sounds harsh, but if you cant pay you can’t stay.
Getting into someone else's house is breaking and entering at the very least...but to then say that if they break in they can take ownership of it? I will never understand this.
Technically this woman didn't break and enter into the home, that's why it's a problem...she got into there initially legally and then hasn't left, which is a civil matter. Its bad, and the laws need to be changed.

So they did charge this woman with a type of fraud for this and got her out of this home. The crime has a sentence of up to 10 years in prison. I would give her the max if I was the judge. She wants a free place to live. A jail cell will give her that.
Another video showed the real owner decided to squat in the same house and when the squatters left the house he refused to let them back in, using the squatters so called rights against them.
You can fake all of that. And just successfully pay the first rent and then dip on the rest. She used a relatives social security number and name for the background check and can use her references too. 🤷♀️

You know a Property Management service is well worth the fee they charge. I discovered this when a renter needed to be evicted. That was the ONE time in 30 years that we had a tenant not pay. Like I said, a GOOD Property Management person knows the necessary steps to take if a tenant refuses to pay.
Be careful choosing, because plenty of them are scumbags, too. Look at the reviews for the company (from tenants) to see how they do business. I've both owned rentals and rented houses myself, and I've dealt with some awful companies over the years.

My husband and I owned 3 houses in rural Mississippi and this was our experience with almost all our renters! Pay deposit and first months rent and live there for months and don’t pay another dime! We couldn’t do a thing because of their ‘“right to privacy “ we finally sold our rental properties because of this!
They should take it by force. Thats there house that they paying with there own money because these squatters aren't paying. Cop's can't do anything because civil matters. It's take a 3 weeks or more. By the time the squatters get evicted. The house is all the damage and the owners got pay all the damage what squatters did. In the future for those who planing to get the house. It you feel like squatters may target your house. Have camera all set up. When you planing to go on vacation or going to work and if you have someone you can trust to watch your house while your on vacation.
The best thing to do is start locally. Get your city council to enact anti squatter laws then move on to your county government. Call your state elected officials and demand they take action. Melt down the phone lines until your state house presents a bill for passage and don't let up.
The law is too protective of tenants who do not pay rent. They should be removable within 2 weeks of not having paid and also any of their goods seized including phones and cars to pay the back rent due before they leave too. In most countries cutting off water is illegal as tenants not paying rent have so very many rights.
Why don’t they just instill KYC measures similar to banking institutions for these types of leasing and renting. This would prevent this from happening.
So if I go to a bank to take out a loan and I present false information to qualify me, this is illegal, but the cops have to think about it being against the law if someone does it to rent a home? I can think of a lot of situations where the law would barge right in and take over the facility and throw the squatter out.
You litteraply need to hire someone to squatt make papers hire a professional or a friend mibe them out while they are gone because the current newest squatter would have legal rights in the moment. Which is pretty screwed up.
I love the idea people are taking back what has been stolen from hard working americans. And i dont carr that she has to move in with family. At least she had somewhere to go.
They need to make a national serial squatter list for lamdlords to check. Also. This has to be a stressful way to live. Always on the verge of being kicked out. Idk. Just pay your bills people.
You want to give home owners their rights back, make the political leaders of the city, county and state change the laws. If they start passing the buck vote them out.
I don’t understand this why is the law on the thief side I am from the Nederland s and there are a lot of laws in the USA that are so wrong let’s say if you steal from a store in the USA and the store worker is trying to stop stealing the store worker is getting fired tell me what is wrong in this if my daughter is getting fired for something like this I will get all my friends and there friends and steal everything out the store even the camera tapes stealing is wrong and thieves need to go to jail for it it’s that simple the same with this your stealing and destroying someone else’s property you need to go to jail and if you doing this with kids ppfffff min 10 years prison and say bye bye to your kids and all your stuff and your money the money is for the home owners and for what left you can work your ass off in prison and just like a s.xofender you need to be on a list and don’t yell it’s not okay bla bla bla but stealing is not okay
