Serie "banned" Frieren for 1000 years, so that Frieren will be remembered by the all the members of the Magic Association for another 1000 years, and will not be forgotten.
I dont reckon they will be told “you aren’t allowed to let frieren in by the way” to all the new mages. Sure some of the staff working there will remember her I spose.
@@harryb12993 You think Serie would take a risk that Frieren is accidentally allowed into one of her facilities? Every employee is getting a slideshow at induction with Frieren's image, and any likely disguises.
@@Anzerke genuinely I think serie is only telling that one receptionist and never anyone else. Just going to trust that Frieren remembers and doesn’t come back for 1000 years.
I don't think the ban was a ban as much as it was just Serie telling Frieren "I don't want to talk to you right now", and picked a thousand years pretty much as a random number. Being elves, there's a good chance neither of them sees it as all that long a time. It has been around a thousand years since the last time they met.
@@harryb12993 you can tell its a good show when the characters are developed well enough that discussions like this are even possible. both answers could be entirely correct
In Shadowrun, two ancient dragons have spent years trading a fruitcake back and forth each Christmas to one up each other. One of them faked his death. The other actually died and then bequeathed the fruitcake in his will to troll him back into the public light. Immortals be like that.
I love how upset Serie is about teaching a laundry spell to Fern. I know she has the potential to be one of the most powerful mages ever, but YOU LEARNED IT FIRST!!!
I love how Frieren is so chill for just about anything Serie throw at her. She refused to teach her the spell she wants, failed her, mocked her, even get her banned from entering the facility for millennia, but Frieren's just shrug it off and like "Understandable, have a great day"
Grandma by association. In the magus bride season 2 a similar but not parallel grandma by association occurs, pretty indifferent and arguably within the realm of questionablity.
Serie never refused to teach Frieren a spell she wants. In fact, frieren rejected the privilege, because the joy lies in searching for the spell instead of breing granted or something like that. It was at this point Serie started her hater career. (I guess Serie is just a tsundere but whatever) But yes, Frieren's attitude is just wonderful.
Honestly, Frieren seems to understand and know Serie so well. They don't like each other, but since they've known each other for millennia, they probably know each other better than their closest friends know them.
I really like the shot of Serie's students and their favorite spells. It seems like they were a water control spell,(Reamstroha?), Sorganeil and Lernen's golems.
5:20 Why was Serie not happy ? Or is it just that they had a bunch of legendary spells and magic artifacts and she was like "I want to clean my clothes" and shes like. . . "Ok" - w -
Serie: you're banned for 1000 years Frieres: it's fine Fern: say goodbye to your clean clothes i'mma take that laundry spell from you Serie: are you insane?

Pero incluso una belicosa como Serie no actuo simpatica con la Sukuna waifu y su desinteres por la vida, la paso porque su talento esta mas que demostrado, pero no estaba complacida como con Wirbel.
I dont think it would be legendary if it only worked with your own clothes. Fern now has the chance to making a cleaning revolution and be the pioneer of human cleaning magic.
How to pass 1st class exam step 1 drink tea in your town and let the copies go to the exam step 2 let the copie create a copy just to go sure xD man he flexed good but Serie flexed like a craftman on the machine =D
I don't think he rizzed up either. Serie was just glad that someone had her mentality when it comes to magic, and Frieren was happy to see someone carry forth Himmel's ideals. Neither of them really associated it with Wirbel so much as they associated those interactions with things they hold dear.
@@furter189 It is, and I wouldn't be surprised if the writer did that on purpose - just to really drive home how weirdly stubborn elves can be, giving us even more insight into why they're dying out.
Others lucky, to pass. Fern is her expectations that she didn't get. Serie offer fern to be her apprentice. Thanks to frieren wisdom. Others have pass. I agree what frieren said about serie of still being a child. Remember serie saying about the amount of passer is higher.
The spell that Fern chose to get as her reward was basically literally the exact same ending as my favorite trilogy of books "The Coldfire Trilogy". Its funny because its almost exactly for the same reason and at the same time for a completely different reason. And I love that. God this anime was so good.
Despite Serie and Frieren hating each other's guts, they both know that it's time to give back to the humans and it was definitely all thanks to Flamme... And thanks to Frieren's 10 years of adventure with Himmel, she finally understands humanity even just a bit. This anime is just a masterpiece! I'm going to miss Frieren Fridays :(((
Serie and Frieren do not hate each other. Serie is Flammes foster mother, and Frieren is Flammes foster daughter. They clearly have a connection even iif they dont see the world in the same way.
No idea what Wirbel got. Denken got ... ... ... a VERY powerful spell that'll play an important role in the second season, and telling anything beyond that fact would be way too much of a spoiler.
No, Ubel passed because Serie recognized that Ubel was worthy of first class status in the way Serie thought was proper. Serie is not scared or intimidated by her. The mages who passed all saw magic as a tool to achieve an end, those who failed were the ones who saw magic as an end in itself. It was immediately obvious to Serie that Ubel met that criteria, so no discussion was necessary.
@@Tugela60 Fern passed because she was uniquely talented and probably reminded Serie of Flamme. Serie also realizes she will have another chance to recruit Fern.
i will say this is best anime in about a decade in terms of story and animation. Im just sad thats its over forever. Too hard to do another season, for once its sad to say its too detailed to continue even though we all want it too.
It’s not zoltrak. And freiren aren’t slow , she perfectly timed the defensive spell. The spell also look like what the clone use to break freiren defense. That means freiren isn’t really taking him seriously. Or else she could just teleport in front of him and blast him.
@@griver007able nope it’s not. The only version of zoltrak is freiren’s zoltrak and qual’s nothing else. Theory theory no mi isn’t gonna work im here kid
@@jaimdbeng1020 It’s not that frieren isn’t taking him seriously, in fact serie stated Lernen could beat frieren in a fight, frieren isn’t actually not that strong for a mage of her age
Not always entirely random. Some of them are meaningful comments on the character. "Ubel" means "Evil." "Frieren" means "Freezing," and association with Himmel began thawing her out. "Denken" means "Thinking," and wow does it fit how he figures things out. Etc.
@@danielamaro7788 From the characters (who are still alive) shown thus far, probably yes. Though the gap between Lernen and Frieren isn't that great either, Serie's intuition says that Lernen has a possibility of beating Frieren, whether that is 1%, or 50%, or something else, is unknown.
@@danielamaro7788 Of the characters shown thus far, yes. There's two more that'll show up later who can beat her, and one of them actually does beat her (or would've if Fern hadn't bailed her out).
What "just desserts' exactly? You make her sound like some Evil Villain who has a comeuppance for all that she's done when at worst she refused to let Frieren become a First Class mage, hardly a life-threatening action.
