Gotta love it, her problem was nobody was able to confront her family dynamic and assert themselves in. Malcolm does it and she uses it a distraction to talk to another guy who wouldn’t even come close to the type of person her family would approve.

It's quite genius actually having the family get to know and like the boyfriend of the daughter by getting to know him. Inviting him to play family night games every night to keep them from spending time alone. Eventually he or she will realize they spend no time together and break it off instead. Very slick indeed for father's who doesn't want their daughter's dating. Just treat the boy like one of your own and eventually time will take its course very sleek indeed.
This show and Malcolm's terrible streak with women is sometimes so hard to watch. It's one thing to constantly strike out and never get a girlfriend, but the sad part is he does succeed sometimes, and proceeds to fucking ruin it...
