Ivo understanding the jellybean task from basically the beginning but not being able to work up the gumption tell Frankie that he’s doing it wrong was intensely relatable
To be fair Ivo also solved it very quickly, he just neither saw the key nor did he have the confidence to stop Frankie from doing stuff for like 20 min 😄😄
I am convinced that Alex had planned to say "you've got just over a minute left" to Kiell RIGHT after he started the clock for weeks and that he couldn't sleep for the last two days prior to filming because of the sheer excitement
& yet somehow, Greg best friend on the show somehow manages to get 5 points even in episodes like this one where his prize doesn't fit the description. It's a mystery!!
The jelly baby escape room task was a total winner! The contrast between the two groups... Mae and Jenny's brutal efficiency and Ivo's moment from The Office
I'm guessing they're trying to finish uploading this series before the next one starts on Thursday. If that is the case, expect a few more in the coming days.
Greg has mentioned that he suspects Frankie just picked ten things from around his house as prizes before he knew the categories, and just talked them all into place
Everyone confused - look at their latest post. They’re going to be posting episodes just a day after they air, so they’re posting the first episode of the new season this Friday, so they’ve got to finish posting this season.
Couple things I took from the Team Task: 1) Their pallets are damn good 2) Mae was the taster. Jenny was the Locksmith. Kiell was the Periodic table reader. They all did their part
21:05 I just noticed that when Jenny realizes they could just cycle through the final number to remove lock 1, and they could cross reference the menu and periodic table to get the next number, Kiell very smugly throws away the jelly baby he was gingerly licking 😂 Like once it became apparent they didn’t need to eat the third jelly baby, he just looks so pleased he doesn’t have to fully eat it
Honestly the handcuffs task was impressive from both teams. That was a good bit of deduction to go from the tastes to the menu to the elements to putting them in the right order, can't say I would've managed it for sure!
Ivo just giving up and giving the Jenny walk a go was a) brilliant and b) a great example of why my favorite contestants rarely win (Bob and Ed being the exceptions). You've got to take risks and be willing to do the entertaining option at the right moment, and that usually doesn't beat a blender contestant who gets a safe 3-5 points every time
Agree with this in general. Ed is the most recent champion who is my personal fave; I feel like a lot of the recent winners massively prioritised competence over entertainment, and the lineup for COC 3 is pretty bland (though I do think Sarah is extremely underrated)
They tend to film multiple team challenges on a single day to make the best use of the contestants' time/schedule. Can you imagine Ivo's stress levels after a full day of working with Frankie? 🤣
Everyone loves Jenny since the beginning. Why are there so many anti-Jenny references? It was clear from episode 1 who was created to win, but putting Jenny's name on the egg wasn't kind. She's the winner for me
Watching this from Turkey and i must say it very quickly became one of my favorite shows of all time. Series after series i find myself growing to like it even more. So much appreciation to the team for airing it online otherwise i wouldn't have found out about this absolute masterpiece, thanks a lot!
I hate that they don't actually make the prizes for this reason, it takes out so much of the magic. But they just tell the producers what their idea is and they purchase or produce it.
Just a guess on my part, but I feel like they are going to do one a day before the new season starts. Next season they will be releasing the episodes on RU-vid, one day after they air on TV. That will be later this week.
In case anyone feels a bit peeved at Alex helping turn the pulper for Jenny, apparently she had injured her neck/back before the show aired and lost most of the use of her left arm - per the official Taskmaster podcast. However it is also the case that if a woman asks Alex to help he pretty much always does, while simultaneously not really helping.
Victoria Corren Mitchell would have slayed to handcuff/jelly baby task. she probably would have liked those weird flavors and then solved everything at leisure, while her teammate was just looking at the wall.
I DESPERATELY NEEDED "I'M GONNA PULP THE EGG!" TO WIN...she was going to be the best yet but the HUBRIS...one fewer spin....she SAID TEN..... I'm SCREAMING
I feel like Greg had so much fun doing his BEEGEES bit that he forgot he liked mae’s prize better than Kiell’s. Also, they never revealed that there was an egg desheller kit just outside the lab that Ivo found before entering the lab.
I do think it's important to point out as an American, despite the closest I've ever been to New York being Chicago, that Ivo's New York impression was so incredibly off base I was convinced he'd lose because it was like Houston or Dallas, the closest I've been to being either San Diego or Los Angeles. He's just so clearly Southern sounding
I've been binging this show and only just now realized I am completely caught up. Much love from America, please dont bring the show here we don't have this flavor of charm to execute it correctly
I had so much fear and trepidation watching Ivo complete the egg pulp task, just knowing his luck would mean that he either broke the egg anyway or accidentally came off of the spot
Ivo in the jellybean task reminds of one of the tm new zealand team tasks where they had to solve a puzzle to figure out what action they needed to do to complete the task, and one of the contestants in the team was terribly wrong and the only competitor who knew what was going on kept saying it before finally just completing it herself. (so sorry i can't remember her name)
I think the whole task was really stupid...zero tactical awareness, just pure luck that you make decisions that just happen to be easy to perform / execute / prepare in the time frame you randomly chose....
OK I just have to mention my new greatest success in playing along with the tasks from home. I mostly worked out the mad libs task from the list of questions, so I ended up with 19 min 59 seconds to make a cheesy Mexican taco using chicken, cheese, lettuce, tomato, and tortillas. I thought the number from 0-100 would be the number of tacos I needed to make, so I went with 5, in case it actually meant something else. Would've made for an absolutely boring performance, but surely I'd bag myself those sweet 5 points.
I mean, i love the show, i love this season, so many good tasks, over and over. But the studio task on this one, with Jenny, is heaven, it's so incredibly funny, it is comedy gold.
I really want to see Ivo and James Acaster on the same Taskmaster team. They give off similar vibes, except Ivo has a constantly defeated yet endearing poise and James has strong chaotic 11-year-old energy. Dream taskmaster team!
