Series 7: I Noticed It RIGHT Away... 

I just bought my 84 year old Nana a Series 7 mostly for the health and safety functionality like fall detection and she loves it and it didn’t take her long to get used to it. She doesn’t use all the functions available but she definitely likes it. She also has an iPad 7th Gen and an iPhone 13 and because IOS is simple and just seems to work, it makes it all really simple and easy for her to use.

I ended up getting the smaller 41mm version because with the reduced bezels the actual screen of the 7 series is roughly the same size as my previous 44mm series 5. Because of this the smaller is less bulky than my previous one.

I agree. I upgraded from the series 6 and after a week, the larger screen size and faster charging make a big difference. I wear progressive lens glasses mainly for reading and the larger screen size really helps. The series 6 is great as well. Can’t go wrong either way.

Bit like when I recently bought my iPhone 12 Pro to replace the iPhone 8 Plus. I initially wanted the LiDAR but appreciated the accumulation of improvements between the two. The 8 plus still functions flawlessly and I didn’t think I would benefit from a new phone. To upgrade every year brings minimal increments. BTW I never purchased an Apple Watch as I have a titanium Seiko and I love it so the 7 series will be my first experience. Still tossing up between the aluminium or stainless steel and the crystal vs sapphire glass.

I totally agree, I’ve owned every Apple Watch and the screen size makes a massive difference. Texting, notes, alerts, news notifications, nearly everything is there, easy to read and far more useful than v6. I was skeptical but my grandson broke his watch, got my v6 so I got v7. It’s really a big difference. I’m not really a fan of the “curve” though.

I work at a mine with a series 5 and the dust and dirt have never been an issue lol

Excellent review on the 7. I agree with you that series 7 is really worth upgrading to. On paper is may not look like it is worth upgrading. However, from personal experience when actually using it, definitely worth the upgrade. Very happy with 7

I thought I was going to be disappointed going from the 44 mm to the 45 mm but I’m actually super happy I did. The screen isn’t that much bigger but once you start using apps you’ll actually notice a huge difference in what you can view. Maps is so much better on the watch now because you have even though it’s tiny do you have that much extra room. How do you say get frustrated with my series 4 and using maps but now I find myself using Maps on my watch more than iPhone now. I love it. I’m happy I updated.

Waiting for mine to come in. Ordered today. Delivery is over 4 weeks out. My series 2 lived a nice life. Can’t wait to feel the upgrade.

I was the same way. Immediately noticed the upgrade from the S6, and can't understand how others can't tell the difference. It's massive!

I upgraded from the 5 to 7 Nike edition in Starlight and I love ❤️ it. Definitely a worthy upgrade to me. Great video

I love my Apple Watch. I am an RN, and the sweep second hand is greatly appreciated. This makes taking vital signs, etc. so much more accurate. I love the always on display which makes taking measurements at night easier.

I’ve had 2, 3, 4, and 6. I’m going to upgrade to the 7-mostly because of the QWERTY keyboard and trade in will make it $12/month. I like being able to see emails and chat messages from work without having to carry my phone everywhere. Larger fonts are a plus for my older eyes. I just hope I can find my favorite snap on case covers. They protect it from bumps and scrapes.

I don't think I would upgrade from a series 6 but there is definitely a much bigger difference and benefit to the larger screen of the series 7 than what most tech tubers are making it out to be. I upgraded to the 7 from the series 0 so yeah this thing rocks!

I agree with the sentiments about the larger display! I took a picture of it and just like the comparison in the video it doesn’t do it any justice but up close it’s a BIG difference!

I genuinely don’t understand why people think the series 6 was a bigger change YoY than the 7. Blood oxygen monitor was one of those things some people will enjoy but most people will only use once or twice. A bigger screen affects the whole experience every time you use it, plus that fast charging is really nice.

I'm curious if the always-on display shows active navigation when you are driving or if when it goes to "sleep" it defaults to the clock face. When driving it would be nice if I could always see my navigation from Apple Maps displayed on the watch face without having to do an exaggerated wrist lift to get the screen to wake up to see what I need to do next. Does the watch only show the time when it goes into always-on mode? Or does it continue to show whatever you are doing like navigation or fitness metrics etc? Thanks for the great review!

Good review, cant wait for mine to come in 4-5 weeks times ordered 2 weeks ago. The bigger screen would be nice for me plus dont have to carry my Phone around while the alerts come straight to the watch

I just upgraded last week to the 7 stainless steel from a titanium Series 3. WOW! I love the 7. I’m blown away by the screen size. I love all the extras, especially the new options with watch faces. LOVE. No regrets! Your 🤩 review encouraged me to respond!

I bought one home from Best Buy on release day. I have to say it’s awesome worth the upgrade from my series 6

I just ordered the green 45mm with the green leather band and I was a bit worried how it looks outside the marketing images but after seeing this video I think it looks amazing. I just hope that the fitness tracking really is better than in Series 5. I bought Apple watch 5 when it came out, played around with it two months and gave it to my wife. I loved the smartwatch side of things but the fitness tracking wasn't accurate enough for me so I replaced it with Suunto GPS watch.

I got the midnight blue as blue is my favourite colour and yes the first thing I noticed was the size of the screen and not only that but the clarity of the screen compared with my other series 6 Watch. The strap is softer and silky, especially on mine. But the one thing that blew my mind was the accessibility hand gestures… my head exploded with excitement at how the f did you manage to pull this off. I must admit it takes some getting used to. Overall I am happy with the series 7 but unfortunately, not everyone likes it why I don’t know l. I’ve read some crazy reviews from people that have supposedly purchased the watch but sifting through the bogus reviews from the real one isn’t difficult to spot them. I love the series 7 and I would recommend one in a heartbeat. It’s so much better and the new style Watch face when the numbers bounce around the Watch face just blows you away. I’m glad I got one it’s a week old Tuesday and I’m loving every bit of it. One other thing is charger is 33% faster than the series 6 and the battery life is just phenomenal.

I have the series 4 and I’m finally upgrading as there was no good reason to go to the 5, or the 6 for me . the 7 I really like I ordered the midnight Nike with cellular

I’m on a 5 and just don’t see there being a good enough reason to upgrade. I’ve never said I wished the screen was larger, and I really dislike the curved edge screen, and would prefer to have a flat lens (sapphire) which means I’m going to be waiting for at least another year. The only reason I would upgrade would be if my 5 dies or really starts to lose battery life.

I got the new watch yesterday and it's my first Apple Watch and I love it! The screen is a great size (41mm) and easy to use. Still learning but I'll get there! There are so many cool features. One issue I am having is adding my bank card to the wallet, it works fine on my 12 pro max so I'm not sure what's going on. Got the starlight band and watch, it's really pretty 😍

A friend of mine also noticed immediately that the screen was bigger. I wasn’t planning on getting a series 7 because I thought the larger screen would be subtle but it looks like it’s more than just a subtle change. When they become available again I might get one. Probably green 😊

Hi, good video as always. To get phenomenal battery life, turn off the Always On display option. Turning it off, I have noticed fantastic battery life on my Series 6. Both the 6&7 Watches are fast enough for the display to show when you look at the watch! After all day I typically have 70-80% battery remaining when I go to bed 12:00 PM to 01:00AM. That’s all day and then some. Mine is also Cellular! This includes taking/making calls!

I got my Apple Watch Series 6 at the end of November last year, but I did upgrade my I-Phone from a 10R (that I had 2 1/2 years) to an I-Phone 13 Pro Max, now that is a big upgrade. The I-Pad Pro is new and so will be my Mac Book Pro, (still waiting for it). First time for the I-Pad and Mac Book. Really love the I-Phone 13 Pro Max in the Sierra Blue, and got silver for the I-Pad Pro and Mac Book Pro. I would have chosen Sierra Blue for the Mac Book Pro and I-Pad Pro if they came in that color.

Im upgrading from a S4 and I'm super happy. The only thing I didn't like was that the silver color was removed. I ordered the starlight but will see.

I want a 24-hour analog watch face.

I might pick this up coming from my series 4. I hate writing each letter for texts and the voice to text is hit or miss sometimes.

I upgraded from series 0 to the exact combo in this vid. I actually had the battery replaced on the 0 and gave it a 2nd life. Was still working perfectly when I sold it after preordering the 7. They are outstanding products.

I have been looking at Apple Watch for a while. The last watch I had was a Timex battery watch. I have been using my iPhone as my timepiece. I don’t really care about all the health apps, but now it seems like @ lot of things I could do with the watch without pull8ng my phone out of my pocket. After seeing your reviews I am thinking I might go ahead and get one.

The one thing all reviews haven't mentioned is that the largest screen helps those with poor eyesight, I am legally blind, also the dust protection is a big thing, all it takes is a micro particle to cross two junctions and your gadget is fried, years ago they finally figured out the an ant got into a super computer and fried part of the system, so yes it can happen

I think I am going to go for my first Apple Watch. Never seemed necessary still doesn’t to a certain degree. Waiting for certain features to drop to justify a $400 price tag. If it can be useful on my bike rides it would be worth it but Strava really does the job for me in that regard. I was back and forth on blue vs green ( only considered blue because I have a new blue iPhone 13 🙄😁) Since the green can almost pass for a black which universally goes with most anything I wear these days Also there is a black band I have in mind. I like the “uniqueness” of the green color as well. So Thanks for the review! 😁👍

I picked up the green color because that was the only one left in the Apple store in Osaka. It def looks black .. it’s very dark but it’s really nice!

Is this the 45 mm or the 41 mm face? I think fast changing and keyboard are great. I would consider getting the 41 mm in Green watch with either a (project red sports loop or the Dark Cherry or the Dark Cherry/Forest Green) or the Blue watch with either the blue/moss green or the project red or the maize/white knit sports loop or the Marigold solo loop.

I’m torn. My iwatch really replaced my iPod and I haven’t really found it that useful for the cost. However, it maybe because it was too small for me all along. I’m just wondering if I would use my watch more now because of the size.

Are all of the watches the same as far as Specs(screen, processor, etc)? Or is the difference the size watch and build material(aluminum, stainless, titanium)? Looking to buy one for my nephew and not sure of the differences. Thank you in advance. 👍

I'm a bit late to the party, but... I have a series 7 arriving tomorrow. It will be a decent upgrade from my series 4, which will end up as my sleep tracking watch. I used my old original (I think) Apple Watch for sleep tracking when I got the series 4, until that older watch finally gave up and fell apart a few weeks ago. Ancient-ish plus current-ish works well for me, with the two watches between them giving me 24x7 use without needing to worry about how long it takes to recharge. It's also handy when I'm away from a charger for a few days because I just take along the other watch, effectively giving me double the battery life.

My first smartwatch was the Samsung Galaxy 2 Watch and I loved it. I just switched back to iPhone last month and decided it was time for the Apple Watch! I ordered it Friday and it should be here Wednesday or Thursday! I can’t wait!!!!

I have this watch and I am obsessed! I went from a 3 to a 5 to finally a 7. I can tell you that I am learning something new all the time about what this watch can do. I am in love and I am so happy that I changed. ❤

I have a series 5 and thought the difference was enough to upgrade. I track my sleep and being able to charge more quickly is important to me. I also like the new QWERTY keyboard. Receiving a reasonable price for trading in my Series 5 also helped.

I just picked up the series 7 last Apple Watch I had was series 4. I absolutely loooove this watch. Looks so good. And thank god for Amazon and it’s cheaper knock off bands because the braided loop is an amazing band. So comfy.

I plan to upgrade. I’m coming from a Series 3 which I use 24/7 for fitness, walking directions, remote camera control, sleep tracking, and all the other little things. The Series 3 has gotten a little too slow and the battery dies fast now. I hope the 7 is faster - i’m tired of clicking and waiting.

i think it’s more upgrade worthy coming from older models currently have the 3 waiting for my 7 to come in the mail

I am awaiting my new one. I got the aluminium one this time. I had stainless steel but i am allergic to nickel and im so hoping their will be no nickel or less so i can wear it. I have a product called nonickel that you paint on metal. It works on earrings. Inmight try painting no nickel on the back of the watch. Nonickel looks like clear nail polish. It might interfere some of the watch functions but with a little luck it will work on most.

I just bought my first iPhone 12 earlier this year. I am looking at the watches, but I am not sure if I should get the 7 or wait until the 8 comes out. I heard that the 8 may have the glucose monitor which would be great for me since I am diabetic. What are your thoughts?

That larger screen does look tempting but here are a few discrepancies that I've found with this review of the series 7. I have a Series 6 and the app scroll "shrinking bezel" view is nearly identical. Also with series 6 we actually can create many timers and view them simultaneously as shown in this video. Viewing the watch at an angle looks pretty much the same as well, but on the series 7 maps do look a little bigger, but it has the exact same map features you're showing that series 7 has. Series 6 doesn't have the qwerty keyboard. Series 7 has more text sizes. I like that the Series 7 has a thicker glass that's supposedly more scratch resistant too. A few added watch faces are nice as well. For me these differences are not quite worth an upgrade from Watch 6 but glad to see this very well-produced video.

Got the Midnight cause I have way to many bands that just wouldn’t go with any other color and yes I upgraded from the 6. Mine will arrive this Friday so looking forward to getting it and using the duo complication and the larger screen.

I upgraded from the 6 to 7 and love the larger screen. I have a larger wrist and always felt the smaller watches didn’t look good on me. The larger 7 series fits perfectly and proportionately.

I love the green. I just got that one with a leather strap that is light tan/orange and looks great together. I agree it would be awesome to have third-party face design for the Apple Watch but I really wish there were ways to customize the lock screen on an iPhone. I’m so tired of just looking at the basics Apple gives us and only being able to change the wallpaper. Apple, are you listening?

Upgraded from3 to 7. Love the screen size. I wish it had blood pressure but not that bothered with it. It doesn’t make much sense why apple left out the plug-in for charger.

Help: i have never owned an apple watch. Considered 7series as my first buy. The big screen appeals to me BUT when I went into the store the big one didnt have a wristband that suited my tiny wrist… so my question: can you use a smaller wristband on the larger watch and will the health apps work then?

I upgraded from the series 2 to the series 6 in aluminum blue and ultimately decided to trade-in my series 6 for a series 7 in stainless graphite (I’m a space gray kinda guy). I’m getting a little over $210 for trading in my series 6 (which I might could get more for selling, but who knows how long that could take). Even with the subtle differences between the 6 and 7 it was enough for me to consider for a few days and ultimately decide to take the plunge.

Ya I did ,from my gold stainless 4 to 7 black only because my 4 battery died! Miss the better sapphire lens. would have got another stainless if they had changed look.

I wen to the Apple store last weekend and held the new watch next to my series 6. Sorry, I just didn't see that much difference. Even the always on brightness seemed the same. Maybe outside it would be brighter but in the store, they seemed the same.

I’m still using my series 3, this one seems to be looking better and better 🙃

brighter screen is appreciated by middle aged folks like me who struggle viewing text when not wearing reading glasses....makes those quick glances easier to navigate

I have the Watch 6. I'll wait until the watch has more to offer. I also have a very small wrist, so a larger watch could look awkward on my arm.

I currently have a series 2….waiting for my 7 to arrive…can’t wait !!!
