I’ve owned plenty of Novas and been in out in loads of different varieties from XE’s and LETs but always wanted someone to actually do one of these, hats off to Dave to completing the dream Nova I never built 👍🏻🤪

Late 90s I’m a 13 year old hanging out at the bus stop, a nova come past at silly speed with the handbrake up, sideways. It was my mums car. The local skallies had nicked it, all it took was turning the hazard switch around and a bump start and they would fire right up! 😅

Good god, had plenty of Novas back in the 90's. They're tin cans, can't imagine 550bhp in one, I'd be expecting it to tear itself to pieces. Excellent build and craftsmanship, would've loved this back in the day. Thanks.
Had a nova gsi when I was 21 slammed tuned, performance exhaust. And a 10,000 watt stereo system loved that car. And pretty quick back in the day..... But this thing is unbelievable absolutely great looking car, hat off to all the work you've done on it. 😊
With bags of c20let/z20let to nova/Corsa experience, getting the power down and mid to top end steering wheel fight you have to endure ,to watch the ease of driving this makes the calibre conversation look like a no brainer I wish I'd done all them years back , hats off to you
Love the old school vehicles. Even more so when they're beautifully modified like this. Even with all that power, it seems to put it down very well and even with the interior all stripped out, i didn't hear much squeaking or rattling like you do some others. Really looking forward to seeing this on the OG battles.
Yes bro, this is special! My first car was a 1.6 Nova GTE and I've always had a soft spot for them! Wanted to put a C20LET/Z20LET in mine but it ended up getting sold for a mere £500 and then getting written off 😢 Now they're like 10k for a good example! 😭 This is a beast and unique too with the AWD. This, the RS500 Sierra and the Zetec swapped MK3 Fiesta are probably my favourite cars ever featured on this channel - something about the classics that newer cars just can't replicate
I'm usually not a fan of some prepared cars you see nowadays with exposed carbon, weird paints etc... (probably because I'm 40). I'm used to the old school tuning focusing on lightweight nervous cars that are all about joy just like this masterpiece.
Brings you back to the 90's when novas had 2 yes cavalier / calibre turbo engines good old max power day's burn outs, nice to see one again especially on your channel Jamie, it's all about the builds and the uniqueness. You wouldn't even expect it to have power..... Jamie channel is killing contence left right and center 🙏
My Dad had a couple of Senators during the 90's (the first was stolen, the second one was crashed), this build sets me thinking a 4x4 one could be neat.

What an incredible build! An absolute insane, psychotic beast! I always dreamt of this kinda set up (Calibra 4x4, 6 speed box etc) in my 1989 Astra GTE 16v. These cars are smaller and even lighter so this just HAS to be crazy! I want it haha!
I knew a lad 27 years ago who had a mk1 nova gte with full cav turbo running gear ,it was running 390bhp back then nothing could touch it , just class, speedlight Alessio 2 16x6.5 zero rubbing

who remembers Daz or Daza from i think it was called "Britain's worst drivers TV show where he had a fast Nova and he got into too much trouble for doing some madness so they gave him an alternative option which was him taking like 20k (could be more or could have been less can't remember) and they literally blew his car up to pieces. Think if he didn't take the cash his licence was gone this is going back a while now but can't remember. This just reminded me of that Nova love projects like this old school madness serious power and best thing it's 4 wheel drive 💨💨

I'm slightly jealous 😂 makes mine look like a baby with only a redtop in, thought about a vxr lump when I was building it but wanted to try keep it retro, think when the time comes its getting a vxr engine in, its already stupidly fast as it is tho, couldn't imagine all that more horse power, but would be fun.
