Serious sam is one of my favourite game of all time, being seen the beautiful landscapes of ancients civilisations like Egyptians,Mayans/Aztecs, Babylonians, Medievals and know their civilizations history is one of the reasons i love this game, soundtrack is nice also in this game..😉
i loved how they kept the traditional fps elements in in too. Secret walls, rooms, hidden passages, secret items and all kinds of other secrets. Also the level by level get to the end aspect as well as the enemy variety, weapon variety, weapon power progression, items to pickup. It felt like a mix between unreal, quake and doom.
Oh yes, thats why i Love this game too and why I think that serious Sam is just unique. I love every single place in serious Sam second encounter, which was my first ssgame ever, and I'm still playing it for them. They are just so inspiring, and, of course, those soundtrack. I just can't be calm when I hear grandcathedral.mp3 XD
Second Encounter actually had some really great tracks from a not so well known group called UnderCode. Their vocal tracks are worth a listen and can be found on RU-vid.
You, sir, are the kind of people the Internet needs more of. Collects info. Organizes it well. Presents it in a great way. Doesn't charge. Doesn't have an obnoxious opener (Especially an ear-shattering shitty dubstep intro). Doesn't ask for subs. Doesn't tell you to subscribe. I mean fuck, people, what more do you want in a great video? Seriously. I came here for SSHD help and end up gushing about how straight forward the video is and the lack of bullshit. That HAS to say something. Edit: Holy shit, he even split the levels up into timestamps in the description so you can just go to the level you're on. Fuck it. I'm subbing.
True, very true. I've been playing this series for years and beaten every game countless times on Serious difficulty and it can be both very punishing and very rewarding. Really not another FPS quite like it. Not going to say it's the best one ever but it certainly ranks among them. I have like 400 hours on the Second Encounter on the Steam version alone. Not to mention twice that on the 360 version. Currently running through the Xbox One rerelease of Serious Sam Collection here in 2020 and so far it's been time well spent. If anybody has yet to play these games and are a fan of FPS you owe it to yourself to check them out. You can't go wrong.
i remember as a kid finding all these secrets myself slowly over the years that i played the original first encounter. though in the valley of kings one, there was no teleporter back then. but this large swinging platform, which you had to break loose by shooting the rope or chain it was tied down by. and then you only had a couple of swings to get to the other side.
They had to remove the swinging platform because SS HD doesn’t do physics that well. Its why harpies don’t carry kamakazies in HD or kamakazies dont ride warebulls in HD
Excellent guide. True story, I've been using this same guide for nearly 5 years spanning 3 platforms. I wouldn't have made it in life without this content creator.
For reference, Half-Life 2 was released in 2004, and the graphics were almost on the same level. It is impressive for a small developer team, but not for video games in general at the time
At the Alley of the Sphinxes if you go back on the road and over the hills you'll see another column of those. It doesn't count as a secret, but still interesting to see it.
he either has serious sam revolution which is on steam for around $2 from the time i post this or from another place. ALL THESE SECRETS is one o the reasons that make this game interesting. Thanks for the walkthrough.
Theres also easter egg/bug/glitch in hathesput where you "teleport" to space and can see moon. It happened when i was exploring desert and randomly clipped and fell off map then spawned in space.
So it added secrets only in the great great grand pyramid? I mean I knew there were some secrets absent in the original game but I didn't know that's it :x well, thanks for the video, now I know everything I wanted to know :p
When you start the game and turn the player back, you will see two lights, one red and the other blue, and when you go to it, two monsters will suddenly appear to you.
Secret passage in the Level of Moon Mountains, when He went near with rock face, this secret means that Sam can jump to this secret passage from the green island and cut part of the level. I did and it was succeeded)
Love this. Have the xbox 360 physical, just redownloaded it on PS5. Even bought SS 2 for my OG Xbox and the other spinoff on Gamecube...and of course 4 on PS5. Can't wait for DLC of SS4 to be available for PS5 soon.
You missed showing a secret; to find the palm tree, run in to the desert with the rocket launcher to get Bio-Mechanoids to spawn. Kill them, then shoot the palm tree. No cheats needed, just use your rockets wisely and shoot the flying Scythian With-Harpies with your pistols.
As a kid growing up this game scared the living daylights out of me on nearly every level! And the end with the alien spaceship in the pyramid was no different! Anyone remember the one headless bomber that said "aaaahh!" And sam shot him and said "aaahh yourself!" What came after that was one of the most legendary moments in history of gaming 🙌🏾 I love this game forever! Ps. I hope they remake the first encounter with better graphics and multiplayer match capabilities, that would be awesome!
Dunes map: When I collected 1hp on the right side before entering the city, I didn't receive "Secret health have been activated" message and that's why I have 6/7 secrets...
Unfortunately Croteam still hasn't fixed some of the bugs in the game. Depending on which version you're playing, the sectet at 6:00 likely will not register. You might wanna try jumping through the waterfall as I did get that to work on the 360 version.
@@kurrrwaboyyt4699 on the Remastered versions I can't get it to register. On the 360 you had to jump through the waterfall. Jumping through it is more beneficial anyway being it's shortcut.
i remember when i would always play the demo of this game on my xbox and i would always be scared of the dark room with the health thing where the doors close. good times.
I remember from original version that on sacred garden level you can destroy pyramid and inside there is huge white monster spawns. Like the first boss but even bigger
Hey. I know this is an old vid and you may already know, BUT Both in TFE and TSE there is 2 secrets not shown on paper. The developers made 1 easter egg kinda thing, with a model of an up-coming mob. And a Second Secret with Santa's Sleigh. I'm not sure though if they are in the HD versions. Not many know of this because it was an inside thing, in my knowledge, We was only 3.. Happy Hunting.
After doing the Leap Of Faith Secret at 17:05. How do you get out? I am trapped in the area. Edit: Ok. i found it, You have to walk into a wall with a pharaoh on it, and after a short delay it opens.
I love the easiest way without using rocket-jumping from 8:50 - 9:12. To get the electricity (laser) ammo and health box (+25 I think) secret, wait for the skeleton horse-like enemy nearing the wall to bellow it and jump to it. Also, the opposite one that crumbles and reveals the heart (+200 mega-health) needs the same way to do it. I want to try it at normal difficulty but the game is very hard! This is the easiest way for me, thanks!!
Notice that rocket-jumping needs normal or higher (includes serious and mental difficulty) in order to hurt yourself with an explosion of a rocket (by firing it to the floor and making sure you are hurt by the explosion) to catapult yourself to the higher places.
Whaaaaat!? You needed teleport to get thru river to Moon Mountains!?!? I could have sworn that in my version there was some kind of platform attached on the rope. You should have shot to release it and jump on it when it swings. Please someone answer!!!
There on one of the missions somewhere on Mempes a lot of bull werewolves if you wsati near the wall you can jump off the map I tried it already happened, there's a trampoline if they stand then you can fly back try me out,and by the way, if you jump on the kamikaze then they won't blow up,it is necessary that many of them began to shoot at one then you will fly far
Yes, before crossing the bridge prior to the bulls fight encounter, on Metropolis, you can rocket-jump like Soldier from TF 2 on the slum's roof (right side), and from there you follow the walls until you access later the trampoline to get you back inside the city ; and thus you evade two very difficult fights (in the entire TFE game)
@@patrickmartin4594 Karnak was though night to dawn. Now I played classics when released during 2001-2005 a lot. Maybe not remembering but in HD it's fully day to late afternoon map. You had a mod? Try playing BFE Mod that turns TFE TSE HDa to BFE enemies textures weapons. Quite fun. Chopper villains in TFE, using C4s on hordes, devastator...... mutilator..
I really enjoy these old school FPS', but what's up with the controls? You can't choose to toggle crouch? It says LT aims but I can't seem to aim with any of the guns I've found in the first few levels.
If i remember correctly, because it was a long time ago, you can pass the whole level without killing a single enemy, there is a secret which was discovered years after the game was released, just google about it.
Okay, so 7:09 was an absolute bullshit moment for me. I had to reload this room like 20 before I ran across this secret by accident. It's such a dickish secret because that's the first time the minigun shows up and is almost required to wipe out the kleer rush in that tiny ass room in such a short time. At least on Hard and Serious.
You have to destroy the four statues at the end of the level too, where you pick up the element, in the updated version to get that secret. I was confused too, as I didn’t get it, so I decided to blow up those statues as well and it gave it to me.
the little brain head guys that are the devs, iin the original version it use to sound like they were saying Pop stick! pop stick! They took that voice line out on the done version. Anyone know what they were actually saying?
