First time using a Flocker. Rather concerned about getting shocked.

I made my first Static grass applicator from a Harbor Freight bug zapper, for $6! It came out great Ken. You can make concrete streets from spackiling in a thin coat and a little sanding. Paint with hobby paints a gray you like. A quick asphalt road can be made with strips of 220 grit sandpaper glued down. A coat of craft paint finishes the job!

I am glad that you allowed some of the grass to go over the edges of the rocks as it looks so much more natural. The layout is getting more impressive as you add things to it.

Looks fabulous. I would run some glue with a few drops of soapy water added over the road to make sure it is all glued down. 😃

Came out nice! Seems to be a helpful tool. I used to do this with a fine mesh kitchen strainer which took some practice to spread the grass evenly. Great Job 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Mr Ken, though they are many ways to skin a cat. Most use the "static grass" applicator for the longer flocking. It gives you the results of taller grass because it stands the flocking up on end. The fine flocking you used here can be simply applied straight to the 50/50 mix. You can reapply longer flocking over what you applied here, and it will give a deeper and more realistic appearance. This said, love your layout builds and thanks for sharing

Why is this so mesmerizing? 🙂 What a great hobby for retirement (or in your case: semi-retirement). It's so fun watching you work on this. You've done a TON of work, but I'm sensing that it doesn't feel like work AT ALL! Great video.

You need "STATIC GRASS" to use that electric dispenser- what you have in those big tubs is like a ground up and dyed foam product, the stuff you need looks like a zillion fine chopped up little hairs or individual blades of grass- you typically add alcohol to the elmers and water mix so it dries quicker and soaks in better, also, pre-painting the area to be "Flocked" with an avocado-green or army-green basecoat will make it come out better- Look up Shepard Paynes book called Art of the Diorama" or Something, has tons of awesome ideas and stuff, its and older book now, but still in print- Typically I save old Parmesan cheese bottles to dispense the type of sponge based flock you have there...... Watching till the end of the video, 90% of all the material you laid down is just loose piled up mess, if you blow on it or touch it it's going to go everywhere! I think you need some more practice and some more time watching you tube - Hahaha - you'll get it!

I don’t know how you do it fine sir, but they are some astonishing numbers and I would truly be impressed. Keep up the great work, but I can also tell you that using a adhesive that is designed for static grass will yield greater results. I know it sounds like one of those snake oil myths, but I have tried various ways and I may well do a video myself. I can definitely attest to using the correct adhesive will give you a great Result

You might want to fix the rail bed ballast erosion seen in the 5 minute + time area, just in case a big storm comes through and washes it out ;) It looks good. I'm not clear on just how the grass spreader thing works.

Great first attempt. I usually apply something to simulate soil. After that's dry, apply the grasses. What isn't covered with grass then looks more natural to my eyes.

Putting down some grass and roading. I've never seen this done. I hope you don't get shocked putting the grass flock and the road down. This was certainly interesting to watch. I'm glad you didn't get zapped! I'm glad you changed the screen. I like that little vacuum you have. Nice job Ken. I sure like how it looks. Thanks for this video.

In the old days they sold fake grass in a one pound box and you spread it on a glued surface. It was coarser than that though.
