Hey friends! I’m Sierra Schultzzie and this is my vlog channel with my husband, Stephen. We started vlogging 5 years ago to document planning our wedding and growing together as a young married couple, and the channel has now really become our passion project. We love creating travel vlogs, disneyland vlogs, showing behind the scenes of creating my fashion and lifestyle videos, and all the little ups and downs of our unfiltered, real life. We loved documenting our journey trying to concieve and getting pregnant, are now so happy to be sharing our experience as first time parents to our daughter, Grace.

You DID wear that outfit!! Even if you only had it on for a few hours, you still wore it! And feeling okay in an outfit for a few hours is a win! We put makeup on to wash it off, we curl our hair to have it fall flat. It is so hard for enjoyment to not be clouded by the threat of it fading away, but you did succeed in wearing an outfit that made you feel a bit better, if only for a little while!

Girl you need a confidence makeover! And do it with Rachel since that’s how you two met doing that series on your main channel! You can both find your style being postpartum again and find clothes you feel confident and amazing in. Love you girl and your vlogs 💕

“I feel okay in this,” is honestly a win when you’re postpartum. It’s such a vulnerable time. Your body is still changing, your emotions are tender, you’re constantly getting spit up on…the list goes on. I do know one thing: Your sweet little girls see you as the most beautiful woman in the world. 🩷 Thanks for being open about how you’re feeling. I think almost every mom can relate. 🥲

Something that has helped me immensely in feeling better in my body and my clothing postpartum is to pack away out of season clothes/clothes that don't fit, and keeping a super pared down wardrobe. It reduces my decision fatigue and I know that every item of clothing in my closet is an option that I won't want to just take off as soon as I put it on.

Hearing you talk about your struggles with image and finding clothes, makes me think that if you ever ventured into a maternity clothing line ( by yourself or even a collab) it would be spectacular! You've already made body positive clothing before, so I know this would be right up your alley!

For me personally, having struggled with body image/getting dressed (though not postpartum and I dont have kids, so might be totally different!) but it really helped to get fully dressed and kind of fancy for just an hour per day. You can time it, so you wouldn't have to worry too much that the fit is inconvenient, but you still can feel put together for a short time a day. Hope you feel better about it soon Sierra! Sending love from The Netherlands to you and your lovely family!

Sierra, you have just had a baby 5 minutes ago and you are dressed! That’s a Victory on its own. Also your body had 2 amazing babies!!! That’s AMAZING but also changes everything in our body. Makes it all wobbly and weird. Give yourself some time to get to know your body as a couple of months won’t do it. As for outfits, wear all your pretty dresses and anything that will make you feel better and comfy and plan 3 outfits a day because between a baby and a toddler you may need more than that. You will look back one day and you will not remember the outfit, only that you and Grace made smoothies and went to fro yo after her graduation and Grace was so proud of herself.🎉🎉🎉🎉😊😊🤗🤗🤗🤗

i was tearing up when you were talking about how much of a struggle it has been getting ready and feeling more comfortable in pajamas and comfy clothes. i've struggled with my weight for soooo long and lately it's been really getting to me seeing my body in outfits i want to wear but not liking how they look or feeling confident. then it's just a cycle of changing clothes for 20 minutes, getting frustrated and sweaty, and landing on a basic/unflattering outfit cause it's just easier 🥲 although it hurts my heart to see you having similar struggles, it's comforting to see someone express the same feelings, so thank you for sharing

I love your honesty about body image. I’m going through a similar period. I stopped working out cold turkey to finish my last 6 months of nursing school. I finished thank goodness but my body looks less than desired to put it nicely. Working out really was my stress management and helped with my confidence with looking and feeling better. It also helps with regulating my appetite to fuel my runs. So I’m getting back into it and look forward to the benefits of working out again. But all that to say I literally hate getting dressed, I avoid looking in the mirror and thank goodness I can hide behind scrubs and not think about my image. I really admire you Sierra! I think you’re doing great, moving and raising two wonderful girls is busy work. It’s great you’re putting in effort, making time to eat and get dressed and showered when you get the chance. That’s so important. It helps me as well even though my situation is so different from yours.

Honestly, I don't want to give unsolicited tips but it does help me when I am feeling blah in my clothes but don't want anything high maintenance is just bold fun colours and patterns in comfy clothes. Something that even if it gets a stain it is hard to make out the stain. Beige and pastels look good but are harder to maintain. It might not be everyone's style but it is hard not to feel happy with a fun colorful pattern. Might help.

I can remember feeling that same way after having my daughter . I came home from the hospital thinking after a few weeks I would lose most of that 70 pounds I had gained. I was so wrong. When I did finally weigh myself, I had only lost about ten pounds and she weighed 7.1 of that. I just sat in the floor and had myself a good little cry. It wasn’t long though before I did get back to loving myself again. You look beautiful and you have 2 beautiful girls. Be good to yourself and give yourself some grace. When I was 34 I had breast cancer and I gained so much weight during the treatment but I lost that too. You can do it.

Isn't that normal clothes you just need to lose the extra weight ....
@rachelandersen4211
@rachelandersen4211 19 дней назад
@@marijatrajkovic3320 here’s the thing. So much of the time after baby or a surgery etc your body is different than it was before. Nothing to do with weight. Feeling good in your clothing and choices especially when taking life with kids into consideration has nothing to do with what you weigh, and everything to do with how you feel. How many times do we look in the mirror and not like what we see vs the day before when we felt confident? Clothing is about self expression and having post maternity clothes in g that takes that self expression into account while accommodating life with a newborn could be cool. The number on the scale does not reflect anything other than the number on the scale.

okay also I really hope this doesn’t get me cancelled but sometimes if you are feeling uncomfy in your body I think it is okay to want to change it! Not for looks but for feels if that makes any sense. Like to feel better in your skin, maybe that means doing plastic surgery, changing sex, wanting to gain/lose weight, or even getting your hair/nails done. sometimes mental health is guided by physical appearance and if it helps it helps, and who are we to judge what works for others to have a good mental

This might seem like a weird suggestion. You're all covered up. Why not try something a little sexier? Try a V neck shirt, shorter skirts/pants. Less baggy. It's like you're hiding yourself in a comforter. Instinctually that might feel safer. But you know you'll feel better about yourself if you honor your body rather than hiding it. Good luck!

I don’t know of Sierra’s reasoning, but modesty/covering can be beautiful and confidence-building too!
@ck2d
@ck2d 19 дней назад
@@GildedButterfly I don't think it's a modesty thing. You've seen what she's worn in the past. I think she's hiding in giant "comfy" clothes because she's not used to her current body. As a tactic, emotionally, that will backfire. She says she doesn't like how she looks in her clothes. The cure for that is to change the clothes.

I just wanted to say how much I relate to your body image struggles. As someone who also loves clothes, I feel this so deeply. My style changed so that I can play with my toddler on the floor, and it changed with pregnancy and postpartum. And it’s hard when your closet doesn’t fit your needs. But you don’t want to buy all new stuff because you won’t breastfeed forever. I hope it gets better with time and as you find your style in this short term phase.

Also, try to remember that your children will only be little once, one day you won’t have to worry about the “mom outfit restrictions” and will be able to dress how you want without worrying about if you’re going to be able to get on the floor to play with your kids or if they will touch your white skirt with messy hands 🫶🏻🩷 I know it’s easier said than done, just try to be in the moment and remember that this is a temporary feeling. You are just as beautiful in sweatpants and a baggy T-shirt as you would be if you were all dressed up!💜💜

Hi Sierra as a mom of three I adopted a “momiform”. I found it to be the most practical way to meet the challenges you outlined you are having with getting dressed. It consists of button shirts like the one from your video, as well as solid colour tshirt dresses from H&M for the shirts paired with leggings. I find if you stick to solid colours it provides a neutral easy base that you can change the look of with shoes, hair and accessories. Its also really nice to just grab your standard base and add to it.

I remember last time postpartum feeling the same way. I have never been totally in tune with my style but postpartum I just felt that I lost myself and my body image took a really big hit after many years of being mostly at peace with my body. It took a while to start finding my style again, and getting my colors done (thanks to your video on it!) really helped me start finding clothes that I loved. But then I got pregnant again and now am very freshly postpartum again (8 days PP). I'm dreading having to start over but hoping that my last experience with this helps me put things into perspective and find a plan to move forward and find myself again with less time and frustration.

I too struggled with how to get dressed after having a baby. It was more having my clothes be practical than body image that made it so hard. I like accessories and mock neck tops and non of that felt conducive post partum. I found my new mom uniform that makes me feel good are wide legged linen pants with an elastic waist in a variety of colors or wide legged jumpers/ overalls with a simple tee underneath. Also, oversized button up shirts with a plain tank under for easy breastfeeding. These feel cute. Put together and very comfortable and all look great with my Birkenstocks or slides

Body issues suck and I'm so sorry you're going through it. I'm going to give a few outfit ideas, if it's not your thing it's fine, but here's what is important; if the clothes don't work, it's the clothes issue, not yours, return or exchange and keep it moving. You don't have a bad body, just a changing one and you get to define your style and how you feel in it. Honestly, I would suggest a nice 90s/00s retro tracksuit bottoms for messy time, they can still be cute but they clean easily and just go for your tees or light tops go with it. Also dungarees are great to hang out in. Out and about any trousers/shorts/skirts that have elasticated waists or are stretchy, or a nice midi dress. There's lots of choices to get online now, if you have the financial ability then let yourself have nice and necessary things.

I totally understand how you feel about your body and wearing functional clothing that makes you look and feel your best while also low maintenance for a mom with little kids. It can be hard and daunting most days, don’t be hard on yourself and don’t worry if your not where you want to be mentally in terms of how you thought and looked at clothes before. It takes a while to feel comfortable and confident in your body after having kids, you go through so much, the postpartum stage can feel mentally, emotionally and physically draining while you have hormonal fluctuations and your body just trying to recover from having a baby 9 months ago. I know you know all this, you’re such a beautiful mom and wonderful human. You’re not alone and it takes 1 year for your body to fully heal after a c-section. As quietly as your baby changes daily you have to mentally stay on top of updating your parenting for this ever changing baby that is so happy and full of life, wanting to explore the world around them. At any stage of a babies like from birth on words, they all come with their own set of challenges, with all that being said, I know how mentally during the postpartum stage you want to feel back to your old new self again. Give yourself grace, time and don’t pressure yourself into anything that does not feel right for you at any given day or time. For me the times when I felt the most myself was 2 years after having all 3 of my kids. But keep up the good work, your doing amazing. ❤

I'm in your exact same boat (PCOS and Lexapro, started after loss of my brother) and I'm the least confident in my outer and inner self than I have ever been. Man, it's so hard.

I’m in the same boat as you about body image. I’m 5 month pp +200 and have a toddler. What I find works for me are slightly cropped tops that are a flowy or boxy cut. They are low maintenance and easy to breastfeed but still in style. You can find graphic tees in that cut too. I’ll buy an assortment of colors and pair with leggings, bike shorts or flare leggings. When I go out I love cute flowy sundress that are easy to wear. Maybe try the baby doll style tierd dresses. They are cute and a flattering cut for pp bodies. I hope these tips help you like they helped me. You got this mama!

Hey! So... I don't ever wear jewelry but when I was nursing, my son wanted to play with my "off-duty" boob and I HATED IT. So I realized there is a whole market of "nursing necklaces" that ARE kind of chunky and that have beads and flat pieces for babies to play with. Might work for both accessorizing and in case your baby ever gets handsy when older. :) I loved them! They're cute and functional.

I really sympathise with you sierra ❤ I, pretty much since my toddler was born.. So for 3 whole years, have been in this mindset. I have had my moments where I am on point, and styling myself the way I would like. But I found I was restricted from the messy, fun, amazing play that comes with being a mum. I went out a few weeks ago and I bought a heap of nice leggings, and nice sweaters, new sneakers and all that jazz. I am owning the fact that I am a gym gear mum! It's practical, and if ya get some vomit, paint or even mud... Heck even poop. It's like meh whatever hahaha. I wear it like a uniform. And then if I know we are having a day that's not as messy I make extra effort, and may wear a dress and accessories. I look at it like changing hats.

Hey Sierra, you are so beautiful and I think it is amazing you want to dress for your kids. However, it is important to remember to do things for yourself too. Maybe taking some time to wear a cute athlesure fit (I remember a few years ago how you would always talk about feeling great in a Fabletics bra and leggings) and take yourself out on a date (no kids, husband, responsibilities) where you do something you like (maybe a walk or pedicure or smth) can help you find what it is that works for you again! Even if it’s just an hour once a week, it is important to fill your cup before you can fill anyone else’s. You got this beautiful, I believe in you!! Also no shame at all in increasing childcare now that you’ve increased kids!!!! Sending you love :)

It is very similar to what you have but has a hood and allows you to zip down a layer on their back so it’s more breathable! I have always struggled but with each baby it’s resurfaced to accept this ever changing body . With my fifth and final now and my journey to feeling better not loosing weight I’ve finally come to peace with my body even though there’s days I still struggle . I seem to find myself loving clothes but never wearing them cause my kids are so messy they get dirty or ruined right away so they just sit in my closest 😭

Thank you so much for being vulnerable and talking about your postpartum body and dressing it. I struggled so hard with this myself and it felt so isolating. Clothes don’t fit right, it’s confusing what to buy now that you’re not pregnant, what size are you now that you’re not pregnant? Throwing in breastfeeding is even harder! Finding tops that are accessible but cute seems impossible.

I've never really liked my body, but being 11 months postpartum I just have no idea what to do with it. My boobs are MASSIVE and I'm just the biggest I've been in general. Plus, I have to wear clothes that are comfortable and pumping friendly. But then I also want to look cute! I totally understand the struggle and appreciate you being honest about it.

I have a few clothing recs as a plus sized pediatric speech therapist who works with lots of toddlers. I need mobility, things that wash easily, and still look professional and feel comfortable- croft and barrow stretch pants at Kohl's are CLUTCH, lots of colors, plus sized availability and wash well (they do shrink up in the leg a bit though). For shirts, the Torris half sleeve half button up pullover shirt is great - they also go well with leggings. I hope you the style and body image starts to ease up ❤

this is so random but if youre struggling w clothing then linen pants might be a good option. like wide leg linen pants with a drawstring on the top. they are so comfy and breathable it feels like wearing sweats or leggings but they’re just cuter and you can dress them up with different tops. they even make tshirts feel a lil cuter! and target always has tons of options

I am only about half way through the video, but I have so many thoughts! 😂 1. I have never been postpartum, but post miscarriage, I felt very similar about my body. I found that leggings and a cute shirt were very helpful. I love the a-line ish tanks from Old Navy were my favorite. 2. They have headbands that are made to do what sunglasses do! I saw them on TikTok of course. 3. Thank you for sharing your feelings. You have always made me feel so seen and you always are so open and honest and I really appreciate you! ❤

I have the same coffeemaker as you, and just an FYI to prevent the foamy milk from sticking to the sides of the frother (since that’s the best part) - just swirl the frother for a sec until you see the foam release from the sides, then pour it in your coffee and you’ll maximize foam and it’s the best ever.

Hey Sierra 🙋🏻‍♀️ Did you ever think to do overnight oats or baked oatmeal for breakfast? Maybe you don't like it, it's only an idea. I like it since it can be prepped ahead. Don't worry to much about your outfits. Just wear a different colored skirt, other than white, and a fun shirt. Or as someone here suggested, a simple buttoned summer dress. Jewelry isn't a must as a mom. Your haircut looks cute. I love that you are so happy about the baby carrier. I loved to baby wear my kids, even more when they were big enough to back carry them. That version I liked the most comfortable.

I dont have kids but i feel you with the struggle. when i went in office for my corporate job i had fashion down i wanted to look good and feel good. Now i have worked at home full-time for 4 years now and if i put jeans on its a fancy day. I live in bike shorts sweatshirts and sweats. I have no desire to wear makeup do anything than wear a messy bun. I been struggling to find that feel good again but its hard, why get dressed im literally going to see probably 2 people on a daily basis. Loved hearing you talk about it and not feeling like im crazy for feeling this way.

I feel the same way about my style and body. Its hard to explain and I want to be comfy, cute and functional for motherhood. I am just now starting to form a 1 thing is baggy and 1 thing is tight style. So a baggy pant/skirt with a tank or tight leggings with a baggy top/blouse/button up has been what I have been coming up with. I hope you find what makes you feel you I know it may take awhile but you are doing sooo good and looking soo good (: I love seeing you and your daughters just enjoying life!!

I'm not sure if it might help getting comfy clothes in different colors/prints that you don't mind getting dirty. Also patterns hide stains very well 💡 I'm not a mom but I'm struggling with health related body issues and the only thing I can wear are comfy simple items. So I try and wear summery colors and I have a bunch of tie-dye 😊

Postpartum life is so hard but amazing. You’re doing awesome and feeling strange in your own body is totally normal. I pretty much found so long as I was breastfeeding I was bleh in my body. Getting back into jeans helped but took a while. Finding a cute “uniform” you’re comfortable in enough to get dirty ( or at least a bit grubby) plus kind of knowing you will change your top 3x a day and having a versatile enough outfit for that might help. I know you’re a planner so maybe think of 3 top plus 1 bottom outfits daily? That way you plan for the worst and hope for the best 🤣 And yea might have to ditch the accessories for now but it will pass

The postpartum body chat I related to so deeply. I am almost 6 months postpartum with my second and it’s been rough. I’ve struggled with body image, depression and anxiety. Then I got diagnosed with hypothyroidism and Hashimotos. And I just feel so “blah” like you said 😅 it’s been really rough on me

Thank you for sharing how you’re feeling. I have 3 yr old twins I’m still trying to figure how to dress. I have been trying to use sets. Old navy and target has linen short/pants sets w the button ups, maybe you would want to check that out. It’s easy to grab and go :) hope it helps. ❤

you are always happy when wearing your tennis dresses - maybe try that? would it be stretchy enough to feed Alice? If not, you could look at grabbing a couple of clover dresses as they have a couple of buttons down the front for feeding access and might make you feel a better in your clothing?

My oldest is Grace’s age, and my youngest is 9 months (both girls too!) I appreciate your honesty so much when it comes to dressing as a mom. When I go to wear something I feel like the list has 15 criteria it has to meet in order to be wearable. And then it gets destroyed in an hour. Just here to say, same!

I am not a mom so I have no experience with postpartum but I was observing a huge constant in your struggle. It seems like you are not dressing for yourself you have a lot of other things to consider (necklace, breast feeding, toddler) so the fun of getting dressed is now gone and when you would try to put something cute or flattering on you can’t be as present and maybe you don’t feel as much autonomy over your body. My recommendation (just as an observer who has loved your channel for a while) is that it doesn’t seem like you have done things just for yourself in a while (which I get is hard with 2 young kids) but I would suggest reconnecting with your body and self in other ways like baths, reading, scrapbooking. Also I love crop tops I feel like they are a little more flattering than a baggy graphic tee but not a lot of effort. They have been crucial in me loving my body in a simple way. Hope my advice helps. I love your channel!

“It’s 8:30. I’ve made it to 8:30” I’ve never related to anything more 🤣. Totally understand what you’re going through. I have two girls myself with similar age gaps and woweee it’s a time. I think I did pyjama chic for a very long time whilst waiting for myself to magically wake up one morning being effortlessly flawless fabulous in everything I wore. Anytime I had a moment like this I just reminded myself that I grew and nurtured life. Our bodies are so incredibly amazing. How lucky we are. It’s so hard when your body stops being yours. Eventually we will get back to being more ourselves and having ourselves fit in with the priorities. It can just take a while. And that’s ok. Plus, pyjama chic is a vibe. Let’s rally behind that. You’re beautiful inside out. And your girls will see that everyday. Regardless of what you wear. Loved this vlog, as well as everything you post. 😊
