Sermon: Lessons from the Life of Rachel

In this Mother’s Day sermon, we will see God display His grace through the life of a famous matriarch. From selected passages in the book of Genesis, we will learn lessons from the life of Rachel.
"Rachel was beautiful in form and appearance. Jacob loved Rachel. And he said, “I will serve you seven years for your younger daughter Rachel.” Laban said, “It is better that I give her to you than that I should give her to any other man; stay with me.” So Jacob served seven years for Rachel, and they seemed to him but a few days because of the love he had for her." (Genesis 29:17b-20 ESV)

Jacob did not steal Esas birthright, Esas came to him and wanted soup, Jacob just told him what the price was, Esas agred. Jacob tricking Isaac was another story, the birth right was already Jacob's because Esas had sold it. Jacob was doing business and stole nothing. Esas had no respect for what God had given him, it was not even worth a bowl of soup but he still tried to buy it back through Isaac with yet another bowl of soup. It didn't work for him. The elder will serve the younger, at some point future. To Him be Glory
