The b/w first part of the video is from 90’s. They are the pioneers of 90’s Turkish Pop Music. Sertab Erener (singer), Sezen Aksu (singer, songwrtier), Levent Yüksel (singer and bass guitarist), İskender Paydaş (producer), Uzay Heparı (RIP) (composer), Alp Turaç (Sound Engineer, Tonmeister)
Fil, thank you so much for doing my request 🙏🏻❤️ The first part is from 90s, the other woman is Sezen Aksu who is the songwriter of this beautiful song. And other people are other legendary musicians of Turkey. And a side note, Sertab Erener is the winner of Eurovision song contest in 2003. I'm adding Turkish-English lyrics below, lots of love! Alaturka Gece inerken söner perde perde gurubun rengi As night begins to descend, color of sunset fades out gradually Derken başlar semada saltanat Then starts a kingdom in the sky Ben ağlarım gülerken I shed tears while laughing Mehtap uyanmış Moon(light) has awakened Seyr-ü sefada yıldızlar Stars in a journey(course) of delight Siyaha yanmış Burned into the black Bende fasıl fasıl dert In me, chapters of sorrow Ah o ne zalim yarmış Ahhh, what a heartless beloved she* was ((still) is) Çalsın sazlar, çalsın bu gece Let the instruments play, May them play tonight Alaturka başlasın Let Alaturka start Vur usta tamburun tellerine Master, hit on the strings of the tambour Hanendeler çağlasın Let songstresses sing in a cascade Penceremden geçer sandallarla sevdalılar hercai Through my window fickle lovers pass by in boats Çınlar gökkubbede aşkın şahane saz semai In the sphere the splendid melody of love rings out Kader böyleymiş That was (my) fate *ALATURKA: (songs) in Turkish style (à la turque)
Alaturka When twilight's deepened into darkness The very moment sunlight's died away as if behind the curtains Night sky will start its reign Though crying in my soul, I will be smiling The moonlight has awakened Stars' joyful promenade has lit the darkness But all I get is sorrow, time and time again Ah, how cruel is the abyss of a breakup Let there be music tonight Let old Turkish melodies sound Oh master, hit the strings of your tambur Let all the singers trill Let there be music tonight Let old Turkish melodies sound Oh master, hit the strings of your tambur Let all the singers trill In boats, unfaithful lovers Are passing by my window Love's gorgeous melody is resonating in the skies And fading out for good The moonlight has awakened Stars' joyful promenade has lit the darkness But all I get is sorrow, time and time again Ah, how cruel is the abyss of a breakup Let there be music tonight Let old Turkish melodies sound Oh master, hit the strings of your tambur Let all the singers trill Let there be music tonight Let old Turkish melodies sound Oh master, hit the strings of your tambur Let all the singers trill I guess this is my fate
Truly beautiful voice an I love your interpretation. .so wonderful to hear music from all over the world ..looking forward to hear music from your father's county' fi ..thanku lovely much love and god bless x
No one mentioned before, so let me do it. "Alaturka" word, (the name of the song) etymologically, comes from Europe (probably, pre-modern-Italian), some articles say that Amadeus Mozart used it first, and it means "which belongs to Turks". In the official Turkish dictionary, it means "Turkish Culture/Style". The song entirely pointing the name of instruments or culture objects that coming from Turkish Culture. In the first "memorial/remembrance" section, the raw filming probably belongs to the beginning of the '90s, which time Erener was a trainee and back-vocal of Sezen Aksu who is a legend of Turkey and who has very similar specialities with 'Édith Piaf'. We can see both "Sezen Aksu" and "Uzay Hepari" who past away in '94, in that raw section.
Spot on mentioning Portuguese Fado in this context, you'll find these songs are in the same genre as you say, a powerful singer, lots of emotions being expressed within the melody and the voice conveys a deep sorrow or longing, Sertab is a powerful performer with a golden voice and i recommend another Turkish legendary singer Sezen Aksu, the original performer of this song, i can call her Amalia Rodrigues of Turkey.
You are absolutely right about this being a sad song. It is about two people. One of them loves the other so much but the loved one doesn’t care a lot so she decides to make it a celebration that this is her faith even though she is dying inside
When she is singing solo she is talking about depressive times and loneliness, when the instruments kick in she starts with "play the instruments, play them tonight" and then she talks about letting those thoughts go.
Didnt you see Sezen sitting on the right of the screen in the very begining. She is the Quen of turkish music and found out alot of talented singers such as sertap levent tarkan etc. İ think she deserved to be made a video.
that is from her personal youtube channe; and series of "wish i was sing" and that song is very known from another singer. In beggining short video shows; actually our teacher (Sezen aksı / right side sitting girl you mentioned ) was also proposed me aprx 30 years ago :D
Yes you felt close about the song, the lyrics is nearly about that. She is one of the greatest singer of Turkey. Also, I loove Amalia Rodriguez. Hi from Portugal!
Very great reaction mate please react to play for nature 9 or 10 you will love this project its from difrent musicians, actors and youtubers they sing together for the nature
She is an amazing pop singer since 90's and a eurovision song contest winner. One of her famous songs is aşk (ashk) There are a few versions of this song, the best ones are acoustic version (newer version) and rock version with Demir Demirkan (older version but better performance)
The black-white part at the begining is very emotional for us because all the people seen there are famous and they are milestones in Turkish music as a singer or an arranger :)
Your audio booms slightly. I have a little trouble hearing your words. I don't want to use subtitles because they distract me. Anyway, wow what a voice, stunning. Reaction as usual top, top
OMG, I'm so happy you reacted to her. I truly appreciate every interpretation and compliment, she is a wonderful artist in Turkey and I feel like she is one of a kind in Turkey, she is in my opinion different and more unique than the rest. But anyways, please react the her singing 'ask'. But please choose the 'akustik' one. This is the link of it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yCOFaNlFcIQ.html
It is interesting because when Turks listen this kind of musics, feel sorrow and joy at the same time… little bit confusing I know about it is what it is. It fires some rebelious feelings and cause of tears…
1:26 She is Sezen Aksu ( the queen of turkish pop and very talented songwriter , composer ) This song was written by Sezen Aksu. And Sezen Aksu also sang this song. ➡️ ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WnVbSh4WvVI.html
