Does this mean that you are mixing Oltp and Olap into the same asm underneath? Wouldn’t that affect performance at the database level?

Any problem if you only have 3/9 nodes remaining? Split brain will happen right? I alite bit confuse here!

I still can't understand how is it possibile to interchange nodes this way: this could mean that each node should need every dbhome to be installed... I'm confused.

Neatly explained. But policy managed dB's are not used as such as admin based DB's isn't? It would be great if you cover a video about Load balancing and Failover concepts.

sir in this video u took one node as one instance or on one instance we have multiple nodes(how we should assume) please clarify
@RamkumarSwaminathan
@RamkumarSwaminathan 6 лет назад
For a given database , only one instance can run on One Node ... but multiple databases can have an instance each on a node...

If I define cardinality to 02 in 03 node server pool ... what would be status of ASM instance on last node .... will it be in running state or not ?
@RamkumarSwaminathan
@RamkumarSwaminathan 5 лет назад
ASM will be running in all nodes of the Cluster...only in 12c onwards, in Flex ASM, you have the option of specifying number of instances in which you want ASM to run

Hi Ram, I have one doubt, Hope you would clarify , While Setting up RAC to RAC dataguard setup , Can we use different asm disk groups or Same Thanks
@RamkumarSwaminathan
@RamkumarSwaminathan 5 лет назад
Typically you dont need the same disk group name, but you need to use ASM on both ends or Filesystem on both ends... For ease of use it would be good to have same diskgroups..
