I have been working with LInux for about 16 years now, so I thought I would not learn anything from these videos, but I am very happy to say that is not the case. Thanks so great infomation here for everyone. I would love to see a session on how to interpret log entries. So you are searching for an error and the results provides info so what it is point to. Such as systemctl status Service. I hope this make sense. thanks.

We are SO glad you are finding it helpful, and thank you for the show idea. We will definitely cover logging in a future episode.

Around 21 min, when Scott tried to search the package with dig in it, "dnf provides dig" should be used for that purpose.

By the way, these are great sessions and I am learning a lot. Quick question. I am new to RHEL and I am wondering is it best to vitualize a RHEL client or server or should I install on a laptop?

So I think it depends on what you want to do, there are several options: 1) virt-manager or cockpit-machines These are options on Fedora, CentOS Stream, RHEL or other linuxes. virt-manager is deprecated, so it'll leave the distribution at some point. cockpit-machines is pretty nice, but web-based. 2) Virtual Box I use this on my mac because it's free and one of the virtualization solutions available for Mac 3) We offer some ephemeral RHEL systems at: lab.redhat.com The boxes don't last that long though, so don't expect work you've done to be there the next time you look. That said we also have some guided labs to help learn a new skill there as well.

So, it depends on what your use case is and what you use your laptop for. I will say that the more you use a tool the more comfortable you become. When I become a full time Linux Systems Administrator, that's when I started switching to using Linux on the desktop as well.

@@itguyeric Hey Eric. Thank you for responding and I am preparing and studying in order to take RHCSA exam and I am looking for something in real time perhaps as I go through the preparation process. Keep up the great work and I enjoy your videos. I am learning a lot.
