Thank you for your comments. I also love Accuphase products. They didn't gain much popularity because we have very crowded audio market here. But their build quality is top-notch, the sound quality is up there with the best, and the design is about as advanced as you could expect from any high end audio manufacturer. Hi. Thanks for your positive reply to my comment. I stumbled on your video while looking for something related. My Accuphase C-240 is in beautiful condition but I had the exact same issue as yours. The right side phono pcb. I pulled my card and tested the C16 cap and it was defective as well. So I’m going to replace it soon. Maybe a defective batch of caps originally. I think I’m going to resolder the output relays because the output works until it starts to warm up after that I will lose the left speaker. If I keep a small fan blowing in that area it will continue to play indefinitely. Otherwise I was very lucky to get a pristine unit inside and an excellent exterior. I’ll keep watching your videos as they’re very helpful. BTW do you have any copies of the C-240 service manual? I would pay for it. Thanks again.

I am sorry I don't have C240 service manual and I understand how you feel about this preamplifier. It is so beautiful in and out just like a piece of art. The sound is also outstanding. We just want them t to perform well without blemish. Regarding the relay issue, I am wondering if it can be opened up and correct the contact problem. BTW, the AC input need to convert to 110V from 100V if you purchased from Japan.

Vintage Audio Fan Hi. Yes I agree it is a work of art aesthetically and electrically. I do have my proper ac selected as I am in the USA. I’m so impressed with this preamp. I’ve always wanted an Accuphase preamp. This unit retailed for $2500.00 in 1978 in the USA. That’s around $7500.00 in today’s dollars. I have the original wood case too. The headphone preamp is fantastic. I can’t say enough about it sound and function. Thanks again.

If the cleaner is used for switch contact cleaning application, I'll suggest Deoxit or similar electrical contact cleaners.

Accuphase make switchable AC power (100/117/220/240V) on their products for worldwide use. This unit doesn't need step down transformer and can be used in USA.
